Star Trek Drinks

It's the methylated spirits taste I can't get past. I have tried sprite type drinks in Soju, and lemon itself.. eventually I realized when success is measured by how completely you can disguise it it might be time to give up

That said, I never really do give up and if a Korean relative says to me, "no no you should try THIS one" I will. It's dead cheap here too, pretty much the cheapest thing you can buy.

I like sake fine, so it's not the rice wine. Though sake is never cheap at all, so it may just be quality and how it's made. It actually makes me feel like I'm poisoning myself.

Now the food.. well don't get me started, I could post forever. This city is in major Korean infatuation food wise, and it's a foodie city to begin with. You can eat Korean on every corner it seems.

I think Soju is the cheap stuff in every country.

It's not really sold anywhere in my state though except in the K-towns.

Does anyone have an idea what the RL equivalent of Saurian brandy would be?

Kanar (Sticky Brown): Corn Syurp, Vodka and Chicken Stock.

Wait... Chicken Stock and Vodka? How did THAT turn out? :ack:
Maybe something like a Bull Shot, which is made with vodka, beef bouillon, Worcestershire and Tabasco sauce.

I've never tasted one, but it sounds pretty weird if you ask me. I mean, is it a cocktail or is it soup?

i bloody love bloody marys.

you could use it as klingon blood wine, maybe with some lumps of tomato in it to represent congealing

though i bet cardassians would apreciate clamato juice

For bloodwine... since I don't think savory drinks much, but am a bit of a wine snob , I would probably just take some kind of super dark red wine like pinot noir or syrah/shiraz and then, almost like a sangria, put some kind of red, chunky fruits in there.

So I guess... a really dark sangria with red chunky fruits?

Then, of course, there is always the other option... of using actual blood. :ack:

I was stuck in a hotel in Washington DC years ago for a weekend, where I was only required to pick up an award of some kind at a banquet, which was my easiest business trip ever. Didn't have a rental car, so I wasn't able to tour the archives buildings like I usually did.

The waitress in the hotel lounge introduced me to something with Kahlua, vodka, and cream (White Russian?). I had five of them that night with no hangover.

Yeah 5 of those isn't too bad. Unless they were huge. Tastes soooo gooood. Then again, anything with Kahlua tastes good.

When I was in college one of the local bars had "Romulan Ale" shots. I finished the bottle off one night (there was maybe like 4 shots left) and then were like $1.00 each.

Its been so long that I can't remember what it consisted of, but I remember it being sweet.

Melakon you have the best stories!!!

I was almost expecting the rest of it to go like this:

I had about 5 of those and the next thing I know, it's 3 hours later, I'm pantless, swinging a plunger at a ceiling fan while the same waitress is singing Neil Diamond tunes in a gorillia suit and shes burning me on the back with a hot iron...
