Star Trek:DOMINION

Aquehonga

Fleet Captain
Either in February of 1997, or at the start of the '97/'98 TV season, ST: DS9 should've changed it's name to
ST: Dominion.

Would've been perfectly logical:vulcan:

I've always that using some footage of Cardassian and Dominion ships around the station in the opening credits during the Occupation arc would have been cool. It wouldn't have cost much, as they had plenty of stock shots they could use.

It is just as logical as Star Trek: Voyager changing its name to Star Trek: Seven of Nine after she joined the crew or Star Trek: Enterprise changing its name to Star Trek: Xindi for one season and then to Star Trek: Random episodes including the Mirror Universe and baby Khans (Oh, plus the guy who played Data will make an appearance).

The show was about the crew of Deep Space 9 and continued to be about them after the introduction of the Dominion.

I dunno, probably a bit too NuBSG season three for my taste. But I did like the Galors docked at Terok Nor. (Where they belonged:devil:)

And season six did start with Gul Dukat's Captains log after all. However I don't think Star Trek Dominion would work IMO, now Star Trek Cardassia...

There wasn't enough of the Dominion or the war actually seen to do so... it's like they forgot there was a war 3/4 of the time.

I'm picturing Star Trek: DOMINION's intro being like a mixture of "Dallas" & "The A-Team"'s opening credits. And with a new score & theme by Alan Silvestri:)

That would've been

You'd see:

Marc Alaimo's name in a collage of assorted Dukat imagery. One being a shot of Macet on Picard's bridge by a retarded production crewman which irks DS9ers til NOW!

Jeffrey Combs' name with Weyoun scenes all around him. Some lighthearted:hugegrin:

Jason Biggs' name with various Damar scenes. Varying from silly to serious:)

Salome Jens' would get the same Dallas/A-Team "treatment".

Then the main DS9 cast would be shown.

Who'd be "BA" breaking down the door? Worf? O'Brien? Sisko? Odo?

Re:V'GER post-7 of 9. Could've called it Star Trek: BORG:borg:

Re: Dr. Sam Beckett's Galactic Gallivanting. Xindi-arc'd season could've been called Star Trek: SPHERE BUILDERS:D

'Course STPTB&B probably should've called DS9 The Worf Show starting with TWOTW in October 1995:beer:

Jason Biggs? You mean Casey Biggs as Damar? Or am I missing a ref. to pop culture? (It happens a lot).

The Dominion pictured whole... what a thought. I see the sea of morph people, and they are one. An army of them, each shifting shape as he/she marches toward me...EEEK!!

I'm thinking the opening credits to Star Trek: Dominion would look like this:

We see the Female Founder entering the War Command room. She trips over an ottoman and goes sprawling. Dukat, Weyoun and a couple Jem'Hadar rushes over to help her back to her feet.

Then later on it's modified so that instead of tripping, she twinkletoes her way past the ottoman and is greeted by Damar, Weyoun and a couple Jem'Hadar.

Either that or show the Female Founder and Weyoun with fishing rods goin' down to the fishin' hole while someone whistles the DS9 theme.

Please don't create stupid threads.

Ya know, if I ever give up this gig as mod of this forum (unlikely as I've been at it for, like 7 years or something) I already have my successor all picked out.

And it's not you. :p

Nah, it's all good. I was lead mod of a large tech board for about 4 years. Before joining the staff, I had fun telling stupid people that they were saying or doing stupid things. Then I had to learn to halfway bite my tongue.

Stepping down was such a breath of fresh air.

Here's an example; Aquehonga creates stupidly conceived threads to discuss stupid things.

You see. You can't say the same thing. :p You have my empathy... ;)

Star Trek: Terok Nor

I would have loved that!

Deadset one of the worst ideas for opening credits I've ever read on these boards. I thank the lord that back in the 1990s that the DS9 production staff were not asking you to consult for them.
