I really like the props; they are by far my favourite bit of the released content so far. And I like how they've tried to make the Klingon stuff look more alien, and less like just a different coloured version of the Federation props.

The Starfleet props are by far the best part of the production design. The phaser*, the communicator*, the tricorder*, the delta badge*, all look great because they are the best of both worlds. Based in the iconic TOS designs but made with modern production values and technology. Congrats to the designer(s).

(* Can't wait to buy them in any replica or toy form they make them!)

Really like the props. The suit not so much but I'd like a phaser and a communicator for my birthday please, lol. Hadn't thought about it but he's right. That little click noise of closing the communicator adds to the whole feel of it.

I already love the Starfleet props, but if they change the setting on the phaser by twisting the Cage-style barrel, I will cheer, while watching the show.

I would be shocked if that's not how it works since it has the three settings on the barrel.

True, but that rotating barrel would have been awkward to switch if it didnt have a button. Twisting at the end of the barrel is easier by end.

I'd assume they'd have pretty good prosthetic arms 250 years from now, since we have decent ones nowadays.

Interesting. Didn't see that article, but to me it looks closer to the iPhone than the closest-looking nano:

The Fed stuff looks superb. I still feel the Klingon stuff is too busy and too ornamental. Though if these are personal items of some ancient nobles (seems probable) then I guess it's fine.

Looks too small to be an iPhone, and look at the size of the 'home' button. compared to the rest of it.
