Wait until SNW premieres. Anson Mount will be a heretic and an insult to the original Pike. Also, Ethan Peck will probably smell like something bad and his pointed ears will be too sharp or not sharp enough for his tastes.
Interesting article about the episode. According to an interview with the writers, the Guardian calling itself "Carl" was an homage to Carl Sagan.
Also, their original idea was not to do the MU at all.
"The writers also reveal they almost went a totally different direction with the episode. The original plan didn't involve the Mirror Universe at all.
"Burnham and Georgiou were going to beam down to the planet expecting to find the Guardian, and instead come across a lone house with a garden — not unlike the house in TNG’s “The Survivors." Its sole occupant, a mysterious Gardener, would turn out to be the Guardian," the writers explain. "Georgiou was going to live out her final hours there choosing to have a perfect day with (Prime) Burnham -- it involved baking an apple pie!"

WOW. That idea sounds terrible IMO. Georgiou baking a pie with Michael?! WTF? I am glad they did the MU instead.
The article says he still the Guardian, so he probably still sent her back in time. And, how does that lead into the S31 show? Maybe that was before they greenlighted the show? But, the idea sounds plain dumb.
I'm leaning towards what others have said: "Terra Firma" was like "Tapestry". Like Picard, Georgiou was given a chance to show how she'd do things differently if she had to do it all over again. So I'm inclined to think the Mirror Universe Past she was sent to wasn't real. So, where was the Mirror Georgiou? Yes, I know that was the Mirror Georgiou, but she went back in time as well as to the Mirror Universe. Georgiou went back in time to a point before Lorca even crossed over into the Primer Universe, correct? Georgiou went back in time to a point prior to the the moment Georgiou traveled to the Prime Universe, correct? So, there should have been 2 Georgioius running around the Mirror Universe at that point in time. The one who was actually from that point in time and the one who traveled through the Guardian of Forever from the Prime Universe back in time to the Mirror Universe.
It's a great Trek tradition. The epic meeting of Kirk and Picard was about cooking eggs. XDWOW. That idea sounds terrible IMO. Georgiou baking a pie with Michael?! WTF? I am glad they did the MU instead.
As well as the epic meeting between Chef and Tri...
I have shamed the forum.

Related to this, I happened to look at his page on Memory Alpha the other day... I’m almost positive he wrote the thing himself. It reads so self-aggrandizing and spends an inordinate amount of time on how much he hates the Kelvin movies and Disco, none of which seems relevant to a basic encyclopedia entry on a Trek production crew member.
Scientific plausibility having been a prerogative for Roddenberry/Berman-era Star Trek
On his stance on the dodgy science employed in Discovery, Meyer echoed comments made by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson in a November 2017 blog entry on his StarTalk podcast website. [4]

Certainly didn't like it at the time, but then he got the gig making the Blu-ray extras. He's also miraculously reappraised Voyager.Did he rant about ENT or was the Berman Era exempt from his rage?
I liked that season 1 dynamic. I thought it was cool to see the trust-building and relationship-forming process rather than just being dumped as a viewer into a smoothly functioning team.
Punny.a literal role call

If anything, I think "Terra Firma" was like a cross between It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol. I almost wish it aired on Christmas Eve, but I wouldn't want to deal with some of the more unpleasant people in a thread like this on that day.
Fair enough. I remember Saru not being happy with Burnham and rightly so but I wasn't really that engaged with DIS season 1 social media so I never knew it was seen as a thing.I'd have taken this as sarcastic if not for the "honestly". The character conflict was one of the big "not real Trek" knocks on the show from the outset.
Georgiou has been my favorite character besides Saru since the beginning and it was just a really fun episode overall. Not sure about where this show is heading though. Without her we're down to what - five main characters?
