I am kind of curious what became of the Ba’ul after the Kelpian rebellion. IIRC, one theory that arose at the time was that they left Kaminar and became the Sheliak.
I think that was my idea at the time of that episode that maybe they left and became the Sheliak. Kind of fits with their verbose language too and isolationist tendencies too.

I'm more wondering if the mind controlling pheromone thing from Enterprise is still going to come up.

By the way. Given how times lined up, it’s seeming likely the Living Witness doc died in the burn.
This was an okay ep but partly seemed repetitive of parts of the premiere and served more to move the story forward than entertain on its own. We’ll see how the thread of Burnham always doing what she feels is right regardless of orders goes. I wonder who will get XO.

Seriously though, detaching the nacelles and claiming that is more efficient is like saying WiFi is more efficient than a hardwired ethernet connection. The other upgrades were cool but that was just dumb.

Discovery upgrades were the best part of the episode. Not much of a plot in this one besides Burnham going back to her roots and disappointing Saru once again. Some nice character moments here and there. Georgiou's issues continue. Is that really her or was she replaced by mystery guy? The overall story seems to be moving along the lines of "the signals" from season 2, which is concerning. Personally, I hope "the burn" is not connected to mama Burnham and Burnham herself, but it probably is.
I doubt its as hard as we imagine it is.
For all we know they aren't really detached but actually connected by dark matter (which would be invisible). I mean, they've thrown the term dark matter around loosely enough already, why not? Maybe dark matter is like steel while regular matter is like plastic, so the nacelles are actually more strongly attached than they would have been otherwise.
I guess...but then how does that increase maneuverability and efficiency? I don't know, it just seemed like doing something that looked cool just for the sake of doing something that looked cool.
Voyager moving its nacelles up a little made it more efficient (and less harmful to subspace or w/e), and I guess having free floating nacelles lets you do weird stuff with your warp bubble to improve maneuverability?
