^ Those were Ba'ul fighters. The Kelpiens just learned how to pilot them.
I am kind of curious what became of the Ba’ul after the Kelpian rebellion. IIRC, one theory that arose at the time was that they left Kaminar and became the Sheliak.
I like the idea of a plebiscite being held to see if former UFP worlds want to return to the UFP and having the main big players - Earth, Vulcan, Tellar, Betazed, Delta saying no lol (villainous laughter, twirls moustache)
I'm more wondering if the mind controlling pheromone thing from Enterprise is still going to come up.
Random Emerald Chain Goon: Admiral Vance, please don't arrest all of us! We didn't have a choice. We didn't want to become criminals! Osyraa... she used her pheromones on us! Please have mercy!

Strangely enough I've never seen an episode of the Orville. You're really chanelling some ''Orville'' vibe hereGod, miss the show a lot these days!
Im human and I would not be able to learn how to fly a fighter jet if given triple the time they had to learn. But hey its space magic and CBS Trek loves a Rohan moment^ Those were Ba'ul fighters. The Kelpiens just learned how to pilot them.

Looks a bit like Don Rickles in his later years!

For all we know they aren't really detached but actually connected by dark matter (which would be invisible). I mean, they've thrown the term dark matter around loosely enough already, why not? Maybe dark matter is like steel while regular matter is like plastic, so the nacelles are actually more strongly attached than they would have been otherwise.Seriously though, detaching the nacelles and claiming that is more efficient is like saying WiFi is more efficient than a hardwired ethernet connection. The other upgrades were cool but that was just dumb.

Voyager moving its nacelles up a little made it more efficient (and less harmful to subspace or w/e), and I guess having free floating nacelles lets you do weird stuff with your warp bubble to improve maneuverability?I guess...but then how does that increase maneuverability and efficiency? I don't know, it just seemed like doing something that looked cool just for the sake of doing something that looked cool.
Thanks, that really made me laugh, your phrasing. Sorry for your unhappiness though.well if it's true all my excitement for that show is gone fuck ash and fuck the 23rd century
Detmer: What's a Borg?
Captain Antilles: How could you not know--Oh, your uniform. OK, I'll explain what a Borg is.
