Spock is finally here. Before his arrival, I was skeptical of Ethan Peck but having seen him in action, I'll say that I liked what I saw. He doesn't channel Leonard Nimoy but instead, has his own take on Spock and plays it well. If there were any hype, he'd live up to it. I also noticed that he's pretty tall. Hopefully the show will bridge the gap with TOS and show us how Spock got shorter. Okay, it seems that Peck is just as tall as Nimoy. Never saw the original Spock as being tall.
This episode should touch on what happened to Airiam after she was infected with a computer virus a few episodes back. This has been watercooler talk for weeks and hopefully we'll get some good answers tonight. How does it connect with the Red Angel? Does it have anything to do with Section 31 or that ultimate computer or theirs? Brainiac? No? Stay tuned.
We know very little about Airiam, so hopefully we'll get some more background on her as well. What we do know is that she was played by two different actresses (Sara Mitich in season 1 and Hannah Cheesman in season 2) and is either an augmented human or an augmented alien depending on who you ask. Why is she augmented with all sorts of mechanical parts? An injury? An interest in personal enhancement? Something else? Hopefully we'll get some answers there too. In the meantime, watch Sara Mitich get transformed into Airiam in this clip.
