M. Night Shyamalan?

The Twilight Zone?

Stargate SG-1?

A status quo Trek adventure?

All of the above?

At the very least, it's got Captain Pike settled in, a planetside adventure and it promises to advance the season's arc. It was also directed by Jonathan Frakes.

So, I'm going to guess that something goes wrong with Tilly's experiment, sending the asteroid from last episode plummeting toward the planet?

I'm looking forward to this one! The promo Netflix released gives it a TOS vibe, along the lines of "This Side of Paradise" coupled with the Original Series situation of a human colony, but the Discovery crew has no idea how they got there!

The preview gave me ugly memories of the Enterprise episode "North Star" lol. Hopefully this is much better than that,,, dreadful episode.

Whenever people insist that the writers of Trek shows should be diehard fans, I remember that David Goodman gave us Precious Cargo and North Star (the former being one of the worst Trek episodes ever, IMO).

John Logan (Die hard TNG fan) gave us ST:NEM - and remember the scene with the Romulan Fighter flying through the corridors of the Scimitar? That was thought up by both Logan and Spiner and they BOTH thought it was a great scene.:rommie:

Oh please a fighter spacecraft FLYING THROUGH the corridor of a capital ship. It was ridiculous and ludicrous.

I remember reading the leaked Nemesis script and thinking that scene would be very cool to see but I was very disappointed to see how it was depicted on screen. I feel Nemesis was let down by the Director more than anything.

Huh I didn't know the Nemesis script was leaked.

My PVR has Discovery at only 1 hour, so New Eden here might be the typical 40 minute episode.
