I don't know, Lwaxana seemed to enjoy rummaging in Picard's head, although that might've been surface thoughts only.
She also nonchalantly exposed the Antedean plot to blow up Pacifica in Manhunt.
And once again, this is not the same thing as playing 19th century dance music at a party in 2017. Shakespeare is centuries old today and his works are still widely quoted and reproduced. It's likely they'll still be around centuries from now. But dance music is different. In another few centuries people may consider dancing to 4/4 time utterly obsolete. The going on about the musical choices on here, but yet the crew on TOS and TNG would go around spouting Shakespeare or Dickens like it was second nature. Hell, even the Klingons claimed it was theirs!
Well, Mozart composed plenty of dance music so considering his popularity in those times, I'd guess plenty of people danced to it.Nah, because no one really danced to Mozart in the first place.
But the episode establishes nothing. It merely tells us that Arik Soong liked to call Klach D'Kel Brakt "Briar Patch". But what Arik Soong likes has nothing to do with how the UFP or the Klingon Empire name the highlights on their maps

I understand the out-of-universe reasons for the music choices (and I did love hearing the right reverend), however, I would just have liked a line of dialogue addressing the reason for playing ancient music at their party.

a bad episode. This is not the 60´s.
I don t understand how someone can write something like this. The worst episode so far.
Or full-on orchestra:I must be getting old...I am starting to think all music sounds better performed by a string quartet. Nirvana especially.
Or full-on orchestra:
Oh, all right ...I don’t like brass.
Though..
Would have made a catchy theme tune. Just saying CBS, just sayin...
Oh, all right ...
How about Sinatra?Thing is though, what else should they do? Use the bizarre Trek convention of not listening to anything past the Jazz era? Or do that always regretted thing where they try to write fake 'future' music?
Let me get this straight...this man just almost killed all the crew..practically condemned all humanity and allies to defeat if succeeded of course...and the punishment he has is to be delivered to the daughter of some rich guy???
what is this Alice in Wonderland??
This guy should have been detained, at least, in some high security prison forever. Not delivered to the arms of a girl.
oh pls....
Couldn't agree more. Just wish they had a Vulcan on the bridge, though...The more I get to know them, the more and more I like the characters of Discovery. Honestly, with the exception of DS9 and TOS, I never really *liked* the majority of Star Trek characters. Not to say I disliked them, I just didn't care about them.
With Discovery though I've found myself liking the majority of the cast. It's a refreshing experience when it comes to Trek.
