My LCS has a Marvel section, a DC section, a Wildstorm section (not sure why that's not just part of the DC section, an "other" superhero section (for stuff like DYNAMO 5 or INVINCIBLE), a horror section, a TV/Movie licensed section, a "literary" licensed section (THE STAND, CONAN and such), a crime book section, a kids section (very small), a comedy section, and a general indie book section. Oh, and a manga nook. And a few small sections for "hot" artists (Alan Moore, Warren Ellis).
Oops...and a Vertigo section AND seperate Vertigo, Marvel, and DC trade sections.
It's a mish-mash of genre, publisher, and format categories.
