Thanks for that info. Wow, two entirely complete TOS sets. I wonder if anyone involved in the Cawley set helped out with the STC set.
Farragut Films started the sets with a bridge, transporter room, shuttle, and Romulan bridge. STC then partnered with them to move to a larger facility and a common crew built the corridor and connecting sets. Later, STC bought out their interest and continued expanding with the Engine Room and planet set. STC was the first to recreate the Desilu Stage 9 set layout. What is now the Star Trek Set Tour subsequently did the same when they, too, found larger digs.

I am completely honest. This fan production is top notch. I really wish VIC MIGNOGNA would had made his 13 original planned episodes. The stories of the episodes are good, although I wish they would stick with new and original content more than they did. Yes you can clash story elements and ideals from different original episodes to make a new story, but is there a new original story on top of it? I do like a sequels to episodes, personally I would like to see someone explore an explanation of who built the Planet Killer [Doomsday Machine.] Other story ideals can be explored like when did first contact happen with races we later encountered further along the Star Trek timeline, like Betazoids, Cardassians, Bajorans, Trills, etc.

It is sad that the Axenar people went too far by using fan donations for personal use, causing CBS & Paramount to come crashing down take legal action against them. Appears CBS / Paramount ignored Star Trek Continues and New Voyages [Phase II] probably because the producers were investing their own money and efforts into episodes along with donations. As far as I know, CBS or Paramount did not even contact these two ongoing fan productions.

Judging it as what it is, a fan film, I gave this a 4. It was enjoyable, kept my attention through two full length episodes, had some good acting and solid visual effects (including a couple of really impressive shots). The tie ins with TMP were nice and, yes, they're fan service, but what else is a fan film continuing a 1960s TV show in minute period detail but fan service? I also liked that there was a trigger for Spock's return to Vulcan, and attempting Kolinhar. The five year mission ended on something of a downbeat note, but I actually think that worked better than a triumphant return home.
A very good example of the fan film genre. I think it will be a long while before we see the like of STC again.

I started tearing up all through that scene. Vic did such a wonderful job. I promised myself I wasn't going to cry, too. I was like "this is just a silly little fan film, WHY AM I CRYING?!"

Seriously, though, mad respect for everyone involved. ♥

^^^Now that is a shame, these were just fantastic, does this mean all ST fan films are stopping, no chance of them coming back. :(

Certainly not. There's still many series ongoing right now - as you can see in this very forum. The fan film guidelines released by CBS still allows 15-minute videos to be produced by fan groups. Series like STC and NV are likely gone from the horizon for the foreseeable future.

I love these fan films and if you offered me more I'd gladly take it but in the gap between Ent and DISC we have been spoilt. Hidden Frontier, NV, Intrepid, Farragut, Exeter, STC and more adding to the rich tapestry that we know as Star Trek.

There were a few casualties (Farragut Forward, Das Vermachtnis, the Horizon sequel) bit mostly we can look back at these films with fondness. There has been a lot of good work.

There are a few things to look forward to, Yorktown is still in post as is the Farragut finale and other shorts like Temporal Anomoly

Who knows what the future holds??

If they're forced to do 15 minute segments... why not do them in clusters of 4 files? Treat the transition from one to the next as a "commercial break."

There's a whole slew of guidelines, that would run afoul of the no continuing stories rule. That said the guidelines just give CBS ammunition if they sue, it doesn't mean they actually will sue if you break a couple of the fan film rules.

Biggest surprise so far in that interview is Vic got Craig Huxley to record new Blaster Beam cues for episode 11. Nice.
