Star Trek Comics Humble Bundle

It should be noted that the Bundle includes an exclusive print edition of a John Byrne photocomic.

Where was that comic originally published?

Also what does 'more comics coming soon' mean. If I buy now will I get those later? Will the price go up later when the others are added?

I'm not going to get this (because I collect Trek comics in physical format), but I got the IDW Doctor Who comics bundle and both Transformers bundles, and they're all worth it.

Yeah, but $25 on a collection of comics that it'd cost over $300 to buy separately. :p

True, but I think most of those I probably already have (in hardcopy, anyway).

Although... it looks like you can allocate part of your purchase price to charity, which is great. And worldwide shipping on the physical book is included, which is almost unheard of. And... exclusive John Byrne content.

Hmm. Looks like I have 12 days to decide.

(I wonder what the "more coming soon" are? If it turns out to be Byrne's Romulan series, that'd tip the scale for sure! :D)

I went for it, though I have all the digital stuff in print form, and for that matter some of this is IDW reprints of material from other companies that's available on the Star Trek comics DVD-ROM that came out a few years back. If you splurge for US$25 you get 39 graphic novels plus that print New Visions thing. That's a heck of a deal.

For those who've never heard of Humble Bundle or have heard of it but haven't gone for one yet, I believe they started out with PC games but expanded to ebooks and digital comics. This is the 16th Humble Bundle I've bought. Wow. IDW Doctor Who comics, ebook bundle 4 (random combo of comics and SF novels), Dark Horse Star Wars comics, Big Finish Doctor Who audiobooks, Subterranean Press ebooks, Last Gasp underground books, Dark Horse gamer comics, music books, Neil Gaiman rarities, Forbidden Comics Supporting Banned Book Week, IDW X-Files comics, Prime Books science fiction and fantasy ebooks, Open Road Media mystery novels, Small Beer Press science fiction and fantasy ebooks, LGBTQ Pride Month ebooks, and now this IDW Star Trek comics bundle, which is, as I recall, the second time they've done this. For some reason I didn't get the first one.

Anyway, you get good quality products without DRM for crazy low prices (unless you want to pay more). If you're a digital content consumer and you don't know about Humble Bundle, you are seriously missing out. (There's also another website, Storybundle, that's worth investigating. They tend to do really small presses or self-publishers, though I have three good bundles from them, too, and I missed some good ones before I found out about them.)

It looks like you're right. The other one was in September of 2014. The link in that OP just goes to the current one now, but Stevil2001 does run down some of the content in the last post. (And Romulans was in that one, hmm.)

I've never bought from them, but I'm tempted.

ETA: I'm *guessing* some of the comics to be named later will be Ongoing volumes 7 to 9? They currently include 1 to 6 and 10 to 11, so that gap seems a little odd.

Wow, I totally forgot that happened.

I wouldn't be surprised. Odd gaps in the original offering are almost always filled in round two when it comes to Humble Bundles, in my experience.

I've also bought Humble Bundles in the past: two bundles of Star Wars games, one Doctor Who audio drama bundle, and (best of all) an almost complete bundle of the major Star Wars audio dramas. (I'd been waiting my whole life to get them at that price!) If you're on the fence, do it!

Hello. First time post, as an eager Cadet.
Byrne's NEW VISIONS series is on my regular pull list at my local comic shop (LCS), and I have enjoyed the series so far.
However, it is disappointing that this Gorn story is "exclusive" to this package deal. Perhaps it will be reprinted in the future in the regular series.

The photo-realism stuff never appealed to me, but even without the print New Visions book, it's a near steal for $15.

I bought the Valiant bundle they had in September 2014. Last year Groupees had another Valiant bundle and I bought that one as well (some duplicates, but at the price, it was still worth it).

I'm not a digital consumer, per se, but as a former comic collector who is interested in some of what's been published in the 4 years since I dropped buying comics monthly, deals like this are too good to pass up on.

Anyone have any suggestions for a Windows/Android user who want to read these on his devices? I've tried a few options (Google Play let me upload some books, but now has an upload limit smaller than the books I want to upload), but none are really working well for me. I've been trying ComicRack and I just started using Astonishing Comics Reader. ComicRack might work if I'm willing to splurge for the paid version to sync my computer to my phone. Astonishing looks promising, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to add stuff to my library so I can read it on both the computer and desktop. So far I can only open a book, but it doesn't save my place or allow me to access it on the other device.

Or, at the very least, inserted into a future trade collection.
