Star Trek Comics Humble Bundle

IDW are doing a Humble Bundle of a selection of Trek Comics.

Thought there might be a few people here who'd appreciate hearing about it.

Not overly fussed about the reboot comics, and I've already read Countdown, but for $15 I'm not going to complain.

Nice! I have most of these (and what I don't have, I'd prefer to get in hard copy), but I did get IDW's Doctor Who and Transformers bundles.

Fact fans should note that the bundle includes Best of Klingons, a collection in the Star Trek Archives that was solicited but never actually released!

No, this is actually a later collection, released in 2013 - the contents are different.

ETA: I have created an article for it at the above link. The original article Stevil2001 mentioned is now at http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Best_of_Klingons_%28Star_Trek_Archives%29

Oh, thanks. I see, it has different contents. I never even noticed the existence of the new one! Of course, in classic IDW tradition, it only collects material that some other publisher (or themselves) previously collected. Why collect anything new?

How are the comics/stories on offer? I read a lot of current treklit but only dabbled with a graphic volume or two years ago.

Of the ones I've read:
- the Gold Key stuff is goofy, but fun-- only kinda recognizable as Star Trek, admittedly
- the DC stories in Best of Klingons are so-so, but I really enjoyed Klingons: Blood Will Tell
- Mirror Images stretches two issues of story out to four somehow, it's very slow (like a lot of Tipton comics)
- Assignment: Earth is a lot of fun, especially if you're a fan of the original episode; John Byrne is definitely IDW's best and most consistent writer and artist
- Romulans is similarly strong stuff
- Countdown is all right; it fills in the gaps before Star Trek but won't amaze you
- Nero is one of those times that when backstory is finally told, you realize it probably didn't need to be, and it has some incredibly stupid parts
- Spock: Reflections is okay; again, the Tiptons are way too into "decompressed" storytelling, and the ties to the 2009 film are slim
