Star Trek Christmas Light Show

Hi everyone, brand new forum member here and a huge life long Trek fan. I thought of nowhere better than this forum to share the past year of hard work on designing and building a Christmas light show based entirely on Star Trek. I got the inspiration a few years back when a guy just a few miles away did a pretty epic Star Wars light show. Though I didn't have the budget to use pixels like he did, I did the best I could with the resources I had and ended up with 27,000 LED lights, a couple of smoke machines, and a few video clips synchronized to some of my favorite Star Trek music. I thought if anyone would appreciate this, this community would. I hope you enjoy!

You are incredibly talented, my friend! Love the medley of movie themes (especially the bits from STTMP), the TOS transporter sound effect (!) and that you encompass all of ST in your show. Very well done! Mind if I tweet this? There are a lot of Trekkies on Twitter that would love to see your show!

The number of lights is impressive and the choreography is wonderful. But, if you mute it and ignore the images on the TV, I don't get a "Star Trek" vibe from it. Just generic Christmas lighting.

I tweeted your light show. Should get a lot of views! :techman:

I actually welded together a couple of Star Trek Logo's and had made a jig for some Klingon Logo's. I simple ran out of time and unfortunately, those were the only "Star Trek" props I had planned for.

Thank you both for the compliments!

Nice, that's pretty cool. I really like the twirly Christmas tree thing and the lights that look like those under the viewscreen.

I've been wanting to try my hand at making a light show, but not enough time and money. There's only one thing missing from your light show...LASERS. Oh, you know what would have been epic. You have your fog machine and then have lasers emitting from the bottom of the window so that it looks like they are shooting off of the film and into your yard. Maybe next year. haha.
