Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

I find it interesting that the posters don't have the words "Star Trek" anywhere on them. I assume this is to create a broader appeal. Marketing is hoping that people will just see a cool epic space movie instead of a "star trek" movie.
I think these character posters aren't the front-end of the campaign. You'll have the title posters outside the cinema, then line the interior walls with these. The character posters should also sell well with hardcore fans.

Quick! Someone make this their avatar pic!

And yes, I know I'm becoming that person who's stubbornly derailing the conversation. I'm stopping now.
I'm not!
Shinzon tells only the Romulans about his desire to attack Earth. With Picard he just makes general war-like talk.
The small device used to kill the Romulan senators is never stated to be based on the same tech as the super-weapon. They share a visual signature, but it's subtle, and we have no idea of how a small weapon would scale up to a world-destroyer. The nature of the threat from the Big Gun needs to be stated, otherwise we wouldn't know what people are worried about.
Before that scene in which Picard said they were meeting with the fleet, there was no hint that any larger body of ships was in play.

If they're going to homage TMP, why not another movie with Persis Khambatta AND a motorcycle.

I was just thinking about that movie yesterday. I saw it when it first came to theaters. Cool vehicles, but the plot was mighty thin. Known by some as 'MegaFarce'.

Looks like Spock's ears are slightly different.
New makeup artist?

Yeah Nimoy would have something to say about the new look. They are supposed to look like the first image there.

Yeah, I'm surprised that they changed the mold. I would think that they would have the molds from the last two films and wouldn't need to change anything. Seems rather odd to me, and I agree that Nimoy would have something to say about it.

I think it might have something to do with what was said in one of the interviews of this being a more physically involved film for the actor. They probably changed up the design so it would hold up better, and be easier to apply more quickly if needed.

That could have been a very funny exchange...

Nimoy looks at new ears quizzically and says: What do you call those?

Lin looks at him dead pan and replies: I call them ears.

They both crack up. If you are an OS fan and don't get the joke, report to the Agonizer Booth immediately. lol

I simply adore Lin's dedication to this film. I had no qualms believing J.J. would create a terrific movie because he works his ass off. Lin, though, combines that work ethic with a deep love and appreciation for what Star Trek meant to him as a child. Combined with the terrific cast, the awesome writers, and the timing of this film, I really think we're going to see something truly amazing.
