Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

I've been so preoccupied with superhero properties that I forgot that STB comes out this year, and in less than 5 months. I'm excited for Trek's big 50th, and I hope Justin Lin and co bring it! STID won't be a tough act to follow.

I don't think it's that so much as being a fan shouldn't be the topmost consideration when hiring someone. Their qualifications as a writer or filmmaker should come first and foremost, and if they're a fan, that's a nice bonus, but not an absolute requirement. We've had fans and non-fans alike write and direct both good and bad Trek films.
Sounds good and reasonable, but if this were the common sense of things, folks wouldn't be chastised for wanting fans involved with a production in positions of control. But now when Lin, a fan, is chosen as the director, it's different? It seems hypocritical (not specifically by you, but generally across these forums) to make the argument that fans can have a more primary talent in this case but not others. Maybe the next time someone asks for a fan to head up some franchise show or movie and is shouted down with "a fan would ruin it," they should be pointed to your more reasonable view of it.

The second trailer, I was wondering if they will try to do the same (like Star Wars) in relation to Batman & Superman.

will they launch before the Batman x Superman debut?

This is what I wanted to say.
Ah, okay.

I think/hope we'll see one attached to 10 Cloverfield Lane, another Bad Robot film produced by J. J. Abrams. That releases 11 March in the US, which is two weeks before Batman v Superman.

I will keep my fingers crossed for it. Because this silence is getting a little worrying. Ghostbusters has released the first trailer.

We've already had a first trailer for Star Trek. This is the first trailer for Ghostbusters. They are coming out in the same month. I'm sure we will see a second trailer soon. It's not like Paramount filmed the movie with a massive budget, and just decided to stop promoting it for whatever reason.

I understand your views, but in Star Wars they released images of scenes, short videos, posters with the characters. This marketing was being done gradually in order to maintain and increase everyone's curiosity. Four months left. I think it's time to start doing it. I am not seeing the specialized sites, who visited the scenes in Vancouver, publish something seen there.
Maybe, they start right now. I don´t know.
I may be very anxious, but I think that the time has now come to show something important and generates impact.

Star Wars is a much bigger franchise + it was the first film of a new trilogy, possibly the most hyped/anticipated film of all-time.

Star Trek Beyond is not going to follow the same steps that Disney took for The Force Awakens.

I think being nervous about the absence of promotion for Beyond is a waste of time. Far better to worry about whether the next trailer will be a botch-job like the last one. ;)

Next trailer ends with Shatner and CG Nimoy stepping out onto the TOS bridge "Spock..we're home' :D

I don´t know how they intend to pay tribute to franchise in the film. Maybe they show easter eggs or some post-credit scene or a short note as a gesture of appreciation for years of dedication to Star Trek or a tribute to Gene Roddenberry and nothing more. Or, who knows, they got a big surprise planned for us.
I just want this film to be on a par with the 50th anniversary.
