Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

It does look like a old crashed Fed Starship.

And its not like Kirk and co. being on their 5 years mission would preclude running into one of those, seeing as in TOS on their 5 years mission they ran into 3 intact or mostly intact ones, the last reported position of three of them, and a disaster beacon from one pretty far out from where they expected to find one.

My guess is that there are two ships. One in Vancouver set and other in Dubai City.
I don´t know if ship in Dubai is an old one. It could be Enterprise damaged.
In my opinion, in Vancouver, Kirk is searching something in the wreckage.

be funny if that turns out to be the main teaser poster. 'hey shouldn't we do some kind of teaser poster for the new star trek?' 'oh yeh, um..*quickly looks through posters for previous 2 films on tablet* that one - take out the ships & those two characters so its just the big 3 and slap Beyond on there, no one will notice. esp with Star wars coming out'

^This is not a private conversation. You and I are not the only participants in the thread. Why would you think I was addressing you specifically? I was commenting on an issue that has been raised in the thread. I couldn't care less who brought it up, because this is not a private or personal forum. I'm just addressing the ideas and issues that have been raised in this public, multi-person discussion.

I doubt it's that blue (or purple) in reality. Look at how oddly blue colored other things are in the background.
Could it be something as simple as that the photograph was taken through a tinted window?

We saw the Enterprise on Earth in ST09, and on another planet in STID, so could it be they are taking a leaf from Forbidden Planet and having the ship land on planets it visits?

The cubes with slots on the top sitting on the wooden lattice works look interesting. They are having cylinders put over them. Among all the pictures posted at Trekcore, I count a dozen of the cubes scattered around the area, going to all the way over to the far end of one of the green screens.

I think they'll be the base of some CG pillars.

Because you quoted my post before writing a bunch of stuff about the topic I was speaking about. Why would I not think you were addressing me?

I can't tell if you're intentionally trying to goad me or not, but ignoring is easy when it's automated.

Just a shadow on the prop and a camera set on a cool color temperature, IMO. But I ain't a scientist, so your guess is as good as mine. :) The other pics show it to be pretty normal looking. The ones both with and without the shadow falling across it.

...Actually, the prop is probably made from that infamous dress from a few months ago...the left side looks white and gold, the right side looks blue and black. ;)

Spock will be in Dubai "alien" city.
Zach Quinto said on instagram that his holidays are over and he was returning to Dubai.
As regards other members of cast (Urban, Zoe, Cho), I don't know.

According to a stunt team on twitter, they are in the last days of shooting.
stunt team = action scenes.

I don't know why, but it reminds me of Tom Cruise swinging around the Burj Khalifa skyscrape.

@spaceforabe (on twitter) said they were filming in Alma's tower.

I wonder if they'll be done with filming.
Zoe Saldana had implied on her facebook page that filming trek for her had ended only in vancouver, but not in general.
Maybe they have more scenes to film in hollywood or LA?

it surely seems that it didn't take that long for them to film this movie.

Three months (if it finishes in october 15th).

STID shooting: January 12, 2012 - May 8, 2012. Four months.

But there can be, of course, a second unit filming in USA or Canada.

Because this is a public forum and you were not the only previous poster to chime in on the subject, merely the latest one. These thread are read by hundreds of people and will be around for many others to read in the future. As a rule, when I post on these boards, I'm addressing them. This is far, far too trivial an issue for anyone to take personally.

Sofia Boutella and Zachary Quinto are joining the rest of the crew in Dubai.

A friend of mine gave an idea that the sets of Vancouver and Dubai could be the same ship, but in different periods of time. Vancouver in the past and Dubai at the present time.

Interesting idea, but I doubt they'll base the story on time travel again. Unless the planet they visit is like the Island in Lost. But that would seem too close to home for some production crew.

I think they maybe filmed this alien city both in vancouver and dubai since an alien planet can have both the vertical city and the more rural area and vegetations. I doubt time travel is involved.

bummed that only Zoe Saldana and John Cho are left out of it now. I hope there is a good reason for that and the sequences filmed in Dubai won't be a big part of the movie. I think what I don't like is the idea they possibly divided the crew for most of the whole movie and basically they get to interact with one character only, saved for Quinto and Pine with the villain(s). I'd like to see the crew being together too.
I sure hope that Uhura isn't 'stuck', so to speak, with Sulu or another secondary character only because Pegg&co wanted Scotty, McCoy and Chekov to interact with Kirk and Spock. Let's hope they have more integrity than that and it's just my 'bias' and distrust for Pegg that might make me jump to conclusions.

Not necessarily time travel. The Vancouver ship is for a flashback or historical record.
