What? Everyone knows that there is no movie. This is just a massive (and expensive) misdirection by Bad Robot.
This is gonna sound really dumb, but I noticed that in Into Darkness the flight suit patches read "STAR FLEET" as two words instead of one.

Heh, I always thought that the two-word spelling was how it was done for the original series, but that may just be a misperception from the Frans Joseph's techincal publications, since as far as I know they never showed how it was spelled on screen.

They did show STARFLEET on screen, and it was one word. From "The Menagerie, Part I":

^ Actually, I got that from the DVD screencaps, to remove as much doubt as possible that anyone may have had, about whether it was that way originally.
There's at least one onscreen occurrence of "Star Fleet," and interestingly, it's in the future portions of Voyager: "Endgame." Starfleet Medical has a fountain out front with "STAR FLEET MEDICAL FACILITY" engraved on it, but also has a sign on the building saying "STARFLEET MEDICAL CENTER." So perhaps the fountain is old enough that it uses an earlier spelling.

I downloaded the picture and brightened the dark areas. From the look of those areas, I don't think it's a uniform. It almost looks like the top part of a seat.

That was my thought too. If it isn't, it's draped around a seat at least. The section on the right is very very straight.
