Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Nah, "The Apple" is too "star trekky."

Actually themes and stories revolving around Edens isn't anything new to "Star Trek" in TOS or TNG. So -- .

FIRST SPY CAM PICS!! http://trekcore.com/blog/2015/08/star-trek-beyond-spy-shots-justin-lin-new-alien-construction/
With that wig, Sophia Boutella looks like one of the aliens from "The Apple":wtf:
The other alien looks a bit like a Nibiru... Nibiruan? Niburan? From the Into Darkness opening.

Well, that last picture clears things up. They're plainly building classic wooden roller coaster. Evidently, Star Trek Beyond will take us on a time-travel journey to Fred Thompson's Luna Park, Coney Island, in 1903! As it should, really.

Yeah, saw that earlier. Le sad. Much depression. I liked him in ID, what little of him there was.

So no Gatt and possibly no Eve as well. Yeesh!

Sounds like they ditching anything STID related. (maybe no reference to anything STID related as TWOK/TMP, TUC/TFF)

Major revision? Like having a background character replaced by another background character?
Could it be that the supposition some made, watching the omaze video, that they changed the layout of the bridge and removed those panels hiding Uhura and Spock's stations, might be correct and his character lost his station, basically.

Oh no! I wonder if the Security Officer played by Heather Langenkamp will be back! Or what about the guy who walked past in the background during the scene in engineering?

"Major revision" means no Khan blood, no Vengeance, no Kirk Prime, no Carol Marcus, no 1708, no Orci.
Remember that the Enterprise returned to Earth for repairs in STID and stayed there for a year. I wonder if the ship was refitted

The "major revision" is almost certainly the dropping of Orci's script and switch of director. The movie was already in pre-production, John Eaves had begun concept art and pre-vis of action scenes was underway.

Maybe Orci's ST3 would've carried on themes, some loose ends, characters etc from STID (guess we'll have to wait for IDW to an adaptation of what was planned - 'Beyond Darkness'?)

Yes, it was. We saw in the final shot of the film that there had been changes to its impulse engine assembly and to the rear detail of the warp nacelles. More here:

If there's no Cupcake in it, I'm soooo boycotting the movie. :scream:
