STAR TREK BEYOND (STB) TO POST LAST (2) EPISODES!!!

STBDIR

Lieutenant Junior Grade
Red Shirt
The series has been put off for a few weeks after news was released that the Producer/Director [David Q.] of STB signed a contract with a major network for a new online series. The contract has a stipulation that the director cannot work on film projects [i.e. fan films or pitches] from rival networks, copyrighted under their name.

However, due to some interesting emails posted on the site from Star Trek fans, the network David signed with is willing to reconsider that the studio had produced (2) concluding episodes [prior to the signed contract] which have not posted. They are currently seeking permission from the rival network to grant David the permission to post the last (2) episodes on the web, through the studios website!

This is a great turn of events as the new online series is said to receive world-wide distribution and that the action of supporting fans from Star Trek for STB will not be forgotten in the coming months. David will be interviewed by the "Today Show" next month and it is pretty certain that his work on STB will be covered in the interview. I will keep you guys updated with any new updates as they occur.

What a great weekend!...We received news from above that the studio is authorized to release the final (3) episodes of Star Trek Beyond! Production for the final episode begins production this week. The cast and crew are said to be in hightened spirits and cannot wait to finish the work they had to stop three weeks ago. :rommie:

The studio also released news that another local studio Meezemeyer studios [http://meezmeyer.com] has collaborated to add their talents to the final episode!

We will keep you up to speed with the process of producing the last (3) episodes!

Are you planning on actually writing a good end to the series, or is it just gonna be a typical episode?

Word from the studio is that Episodes 19 & 20 will continue the plotline following Episode 18. They will be longer episodes [Estimated at 30 minutes], and that Episode 21 will be a closer for the series; but that like any other ST Film or Fan Film/Series, it will be open ended just in case something comes up in the far future.

David Q promises that Episode 21 will be a great episode!

As a member of the STB cast, I can say episodes 19 & 20 are the absolute best produced by the studio ever. They are unlike anything seen in the history of fan film production. The acting is superb, and the plot is high quality action drama. The violence is at times disturbing, but is well balanced with humorous scenes. I personally am exhilarated with excitement over these two episodes. A newcomer to the cast, Justin Koelsch, delivers such a phenomenal performance as the menacing villain, that the episodes are worth seeing for his performance alone.
I garantee, you will NOT be disappointed!!!

You inverted the "u" and the "e" in "rogue." The appropriate address is wired_rogue@hotmail.com. Send your email there and they will guide you on how to "obtain" DVD sets of the series which will be made available for fans next month!!!

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but it's just been pointed out to me that you guys are advertising DVDs of this production for sale. As a fellow producer, I understand how much it costs to put these things together, and how frustrating it can sometimes be to not see any financial return on that investment. That said, I have to tell you such a thing concerns me greatly. Paramount/CBS have been exceptionally tolerant of all of us so far, but they are not likely to be tolerant of someone selling these productions.

Please consider what you do here, since it could affect us all.

I'm with you Intrepid...aren't they also inviting legal issues with Paramount down the line? Or is it legal to 'obtain' them in some back door way?

I'm afraid I don't know all the ins and outs, but I do know that making money off these things is a complete no no.

I had always thought that too. And these folks who makes all these fan productions, out of a labor of love, are really special folks and I'd hate to see them lose their ability to do this because some are using loop-holes to turn a buck.

Then again, I don't know all the legality issues. But with Paramount being very protective of Trek, due to the new movie, I think I'd think twice about going down that road with them.

Rob

Selling DVDs is a definite no-no.

I watched a few episodes just now. Its quite entertaining, but your audio is killing you man.

The legality issues, so far as I am aware, are thus: We have no right to exist. Paramount lets us be because we're nice people and we don't take in profits. But they can cease-and-desist at any time, for any reason.

I'm'a gonna drop an email to STB.
