I think this is going to be an Avatar-like riff on Native Americans. Starfleet ship crashes 50 years ago. Starfleet builds Yorktown, a thriving megalopolis. But there are natives on the planet. And Kirk's gonna side with them over his superiors.
Last time the homage the best Star Trek film. This time they can homage the worst.
The thought of this definitely sent a chill down my spine.

I predict we are going to see the USS Enterprise again. 
I predict the Simon Pegg written film will feature Scotty as lead character while Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Uhura only get a few lines each. As a twist that finally adds homosexuality to Trek, Chekov and Sulu reveal they're more than friends.
My prediction is that the movie will be about Kirk and Spock having an adventure.

It's kind of funny how the MCU & Star Wars have their own TFA.
