Voyager, the Intrepid Class Starship, went through many phases, both as physical models and CG. An interesting fact regarding one of the physical models is that a small scale model of Voyager was constructed by Rick Sternbach, modifying a "Revell-Monogram" model kit. It was never used for filming (nor was any other physical model ever used as stand-in for the studio model for that matter) and was later auctioned off as Lot 225 in Profiles in History's "Hollywood Auction 24" on March 31st, 2006, estimated at $1,000-$1,500.

Chaires, Bradley Stewart Chilton, page 224 starts a very interesting section on "The Dark Side" of Star Trek, using The questioning of Data's sentience - he being a machine made by a man, and TOS episode, "Let This Be Your Last Battlefield" as example and metaphor of "...respecting individual and racial dignity and autonomy."
