Paul Fix is the Engineer guiding the D&RGW engine number 268 in the obscure movie, "Denver and Rio Grande Western", also starring Sterling Hayden! Wow! So what, you say? You know him as Admiral Piper in ST TOS "Where No Man Has Gone Before".

Of Star Trek: Insurrection... scene number 268, in which Data beams himself off of the Cousteau before it explodes, was deleted from the final cut of the film.

Would that be Dr. Admiral Piper or Adm. Doctor Piper? (Even before his ST appearance, I knew him from syndicated reruns of The Rifleman.)

For today, I am invoking the Unwritten Rule of Acquisition which doesn't officially have a number assigned to it...

"When no appropriate rule applies, make one up",

and assigning the number 267 to it. lol

The Next Gen episode "Parallels" had the production code 263. It was one of the episodes cited by the writers of Star Trek when discussing the alternate reality premise in interviews.
