Prior to the release of ST:FC, there's a special on HBO called Star Trek: Beyond First Contact which the behind of scenes of ST:FC, does anybody remember that special?

Yeah. It was actually one of their better First Look specials. It featured behind the scenes footage not seen on the DVD along with interviews with Borg make-up effects technician Todd Masters, costume designer Deborah Everton, and actor Neal ("Lt. Hawk") McDonough. Too bad Paramount didn't include any of that on the DVD/Blu-Ray release.

As for the other TNG films:

-Generations got an E! Channel premiere special but I don't recall any other TV making-ofs (did the Sci-Fi Channel do something?)...
-Insurrection got four (I think) short behind the scenes promos on UPN during ST:VGR commercial breaks...
-I don't remember Nemesis getting anything at all...

Not properly , it might be featured behind the scenes footage and was not seen on the DVD with any interviews .

I remember the E! Generations premiere and shaking my head at the host who clearly had no clue what the film was about and her abysmal joke to Jonathan Frakes... "There's a scene in the film when the bad says 'Fire at will'"...rolls clip of said scene..."Did you think she was talking about your character...because his name is Will". The look on Frakes' face was priceless. As if to say this lady CAN'T be serious.

^ Sounds like an interview as awkward and abysmal as this one with some of the cast of First Contact.
Yeah, I just watched that interview recently and it made me want to cringe the whole time. I don't care if they're employees of the channel and therefore protocol gives them first dibs on most interviews. It is a privilege to interview those actors...a privilege that should be reserved for people who are WORTHY. And those two dimwits certainly were not. :klingon:

I miss the old "John Tesh" era Entertainment Tonight, they covered the hell out of trek back then. TNG, DS9, treks five, six, gen. Heck TUC had like a whole week of coverage.

I'll have to watch it when I've got a spare half-hour.

It's a nice little special and I wish they would include some of the raw interview footage on a future Blu-Ray release of the film.

Oddly, there's a commercial in the middle of it. I don't know why.

That naughty HBO...always showing somebody's behind!

I remember that special. It was the first time I got a glimpse of the Enterprise-E. It also had a good five minutes devoted to the deflector dish sequence.

That was an interesting bit of trivia at 6:50, about the BORG eyes blinking Morse code names.

Even to this day, I find First Contact's Special Effects to be the best work in the series, and I'm glad they got a lot of acknowledgement here.
