So I got playing the two Star Trek Armada games at the beginning of the year. Didn't realize I had never completed them. Happy to report that it may have taken hours but I completed both of them. I can now be happy.

1 had the better story, 2 the better gameplay

I never got along with more complicated Armada 2, but I loved the first game so much. I loved playing as the Borg and taking my time to build up my fleet and then swarm enemy bases and assimilate everything.

2 had 8472 with embryos developing into ships and bases, IIRC, that was very cool

Similar to Elite Force in that respect. Both from the glory days of Star Trek games, along with Bridge Commander! The modding communities around them were amazing too.

i have both of them on gog. 2 is perfection. but 1 have some issues. on instant action i constantly need to change the game speed becuase it wont save the settings. it dosent let you zoom out as much as well. feels a little bit clastrophobic
