Star Trek and Enemy battle tactics. I thought that other show had a great idea.

You know that other show that is called Andromeda. It's cheap, sometimes kooky, and all but there are some ideas in the show that I just love like some of the enemy battle tactics such as the Magog.

I think their ships are pretty cool and if only Trek had co-opted some ideas from the other show. First off a question as I'm not sure how shields work. If the shields are up would they prevent say a person touching the hull of the ship or exiting an airlock to go out on the hull? If the answer is "maybe" could then a ship land on the hull and attach itself?

I liked the feature of those ships that they could attach to a hull then hammer their way through the hull to allow boarding. Has Trek ever used this kind of tactic?

Yeah that's how Krall got aboard the Enterprise. Those ships were gnarly because they could slice and dice as well

Yeah but a future Trek enemy that does that carefully and more methodically would be scary, especially if you can hear them bashing the hull to get in. At least I think so, add cloaking tech so you don't know they have clamped on.

The moment you hear a boarding vessel use EM Foot Clamps to attach to the outter hull of your StarShip, somebody or some Audio Sensor inside is likely to hear a loud ker-chunk of metal on metal contacts.

Even with Cloaking, the advantage of surprise would be lost upon hearing them latch on and start the drilling procedure to break in.

Oh yeah forgot about the sensors. Still think though it would add drama snd something kind of new.
