Star Trek: An Obsession

Daily. My ringtone is the TOS theme. My alarm is the TOS end credits theme. My SMS is the doorbell in TNG. And my office computer has a Star Trek sound theme.

Whenever I drink tea I think "tea, earl grey, hot".

Me too for my cellphone. Phone call is the ST bosun's whistle, text message is the chirps the TOS communicator makes when flipped open, email to my synched work Outlook is the "incoming message" double-beep of the communicator. timer alarm is one of the bridge scanner SFXs.
I did this too; text message tone was the TNG door chime, phone call was the TOS bridge "ping", voicemail sound was the intraship communication beep from TOS, and of course, my alarm was the TNG red alert, volume maximized for pure waking power.

(just an aside, I have an iPhone and www.iringer.net is a great program for making your own ringtones from audio files, particularly since it requires a special file to upload correctly)

When I am regaling my students with something they do not find fascinating, I might stop, say, "Fascinating," ironically then change gears.

I have a John Locke Picard background for my projector (civics class).

My bf put Voyager for a ringtone to notify when my mom calls and TNG theme when her partner calls. I asked him not to wreck ST for me. Ouch I know.

No, not really. As much as I watch it. I don t collect anything either. I'm past that.

I write TOS fan fiction (under another name, on another site, and no, not the romantic stuff), and I find that Spock's voice is very sticky; if I've been writing him recently, I have trouble taking him OFF again. Sometimes I'll talk to my husband about something, and he'll say, "You're channelling Spock again. Where's my Cory?" Oops.

I will vocalize the "Klingon Battle Song Phrase" in traffic from time to time.

I use "Khan's line, "...you dint ekspek to fine me here...!" when I sneek up on my kids...they LOVE it!

Actually, no, they don't.

They are 25 and 22 now

::guffaw::

I occasionally think of Sulu saying "We aren't going to make it, are we?" when I'm in a situation when I'm running late, for whatever reason. Sometimes when I'm looking up at the stars in the night sky I pretend one of them is the Enterprise. In fact I did this just the other evening walking the dog.

Aww! Listen to you :) I've never been much of a star gazer, though. Jupiter doesn't look all that different to me than the International Space Station, walking around, at night. There's supposed to be some way you can tell the station and sattelites and stuff like that, but I forget what it is. Maybe they don't twinkle, or ... They probably move is what the difference is. But I sometimes wonder if aliens hold Earth's sun with any regard, in their constellations. Or if they know there's life here and what that means to them. They're probably scared shitless we'll invade if they send us a signal. HA!!! Those poor fools ... if they only knew.
