Sorry..but I LIKE these new figures. We have the BRIDGE SET..we got the TRANSPORTER set today..and we have all the figures so far, and we love playing with them..yes WE..

And....you have to get the transporter set. The cool ass effect the TRANSPORTER does really makes it look like the person has beamed away. It still blows me away when we activate the transpoter...

I hope they dont make PICARD era dolls. To me, that era is dead and over in this new time line. But I do like the fact we can use the CRISIS INFINITE DC superhero collectoin with the TREK dolls since they are nearly the same size which is fine with me....STAR TREK/XMEN was a really, well, off target idea. Now...STAR TREK vs DARKSEID (with special guest stars the Justice League and Justice Society) is far cooler!!!!

Great fun...great figures...and, so far, great fun for my son which is very important to me...

Playmates only has a license for JJ movie action figures in three sizes: 3.75", 6" and 12". Mattel has a license to do three movie Barbie/Ken figures.

Diamond/Art Asylum still has the license to do the 9" retro TOS TV, TNG, DS9, ENT etc. action figures.

There's a good website about Star Trek figures here. I'm surprised there are people like Rob who aren't interested in figures from the 90s spin-off Star Trek series/movies...I'm used to hearing from people online who are disappointed that AA/DST don't do more 24th century Star Trek figures (TNG, DS9, etc.). They tend to focus more on the original "Star Trek" as that's what sells more.

Huh? The next wave has Rand and Chapel, sure, but there are TNG and VOY Borg figures on their way, too, and there have been many TNG figures from AA/DST, and a recent DS9 wave.

Its all about Branding...and I think this movie is going to be big and will further push TNG-era TREK shows into the background. I was just at TARGET and TOYS R US this weekend. They are carrying the new XI toys and the recent TOS toys..and thats it. They may be putting out new TNG stuff, and at my comic book store, I see that they are. But if they're only being sold in comic book stores? That may be good for collectors, and such. But, if you had your choice of having your product being sold in a comic-book store or a TARGET/WALMART, I'm sure 95% would rather have their stuff sold in a big chain.

The other 5% will say things like "I only want my stuff sold at stores that don't try break unions". Yep, I met a dude at COMICON who told me this exact thing. Of course, he owns a comic-book store, a small one at that, and he only has two employees. Himself and his brother. Are they part of the comic-book dealer union? ummmmmmm.....no.

Or some will say that their stuff is to good to be in a TARGET store. Yep, I heard this one time when I listened to a couple of vendors discussing 'biz' while I was in a comic-book store and overheard them. Yeah...right.

Ok when I say dissapointed it's not I'm the size it the lack of detail. The Indiana jones set was amazing! The DC infinite universe are ok some are off a little bit. But I like the new 3 inch but not the details. They look like something ud pu into a dollhouse.

The Indiana Jones line was cancelled.

Yea cause there's only so many figures they can make of Indiana jones and none the less the figures were much more detailed and better than the 3 inch star trek ones and some or the DC infinite heroes ones are pretty weak too.cone on the black hand looks sobnich smaller than the rest some are dissapointing that's all.

Huh...I think with only 3 inches to work with the CRISIS INFINITE collection has been done quite well. We have them all..and I really love the HAWKMAN one. Have it on my desk at work even.

I hope they put out more. Where is AQUAMAN? HAWKGIRL? PHANTOM STRANGER and either of the Monitors???

Yeah, but they won't even make the main cast of Voyager (not that I care, but there are a lot of fans pissed off by it), they keep canceling upcoming DS9 figures and they have no plans for TNG releases for the rest of the year (the Borgs are mostly generic Borg, other than Seven and the Borg Queen). They're clearly favouring the original Star Trek above all others at the moment.

I wish companies like Art Aslylum would get a chance to do Trek figures and get them into retail stores instead we get stuck with Playmates their figures look like garbage especially their new Terminator line.

Ummmm..yeah. This is a no brainer. STAR TREK XI is going to shove the TNGera stuff to the back row...it only makes dollar and cents. And I wouldn't have it any other way....If there is such a desire for VOYAGER/ENTERPRISE/DS9/TNG stuff, then there are always conventions and EBAY...

But in the here and now? This entire Franchise is zeroing in on TREK XI, and by extenstion, TOS...bravo zulu. Logic is winning out at last.

Recent releases have included Ro Laren, Alyssa Ogawa, Bev Crusher, TNG and DS9 O'Briens, Bashir, Kira Nerys, Gowron, Martok and Worf.

The only recent cancellations I'm aware of were Kruge and Maltz. TOS movie characters. If the retailers don't pre-order in sufficient quantities, the figures get canceled. The Salt Vampire is delayed. Another TOS character.

Upcoming figures include Locutus, Seven of Nine, and a Borgified Enterprise-E crewmember. And Command Chair Sisko.

I'm not surprised that the toys are focused on JJ Trek. BermanTrek ended years ago at this point, is there really much of a market for the Berman-era stuff anyway?

The Art Asylum/Diamond Select line is now at Toys 'R Us.

Sorry..don't agree at all. Could you imagine how much they would cost? its bad enough they cost 7$ a pop. Anything done by Art Aslylum would be twice that...if not more.

These are for kids. They play with them. They bash them around when they have Kirk fight Darkseid. Its an expensive battle!!!
