Ok im not going to get excited.....i still feel the sting of Star trek Legacy, and the let down taste of Star Trek online is still a fresh wound of what could have been.....so im going to stay very calm and simply wait until i see the actual game in action.

Ok i will allow myself to be a tiny teeny tiny weeny bit excited, but thats it.

Will there be an actual multi-player lobby (think Halo 1 multi-player on the PC) or will there be an arbitrary "match-making" system that will find you a game, and by God you're going to play it whether or not it's the settings you wanted? Because I've been having heaps of trouble even finding a partial match on Splinter Cell: Conviction using Ubisoft's matchmaker.

Other than that, I'm very excited. I can count on one hand the number of Star Trek games I've played and enjoyed, and I sincerely hope that I can up that number a bit with this new title. Any word on rather or not it'll be available via the OnLive service?

I just looked and couldn't find one through Memory Alpha, Wikipedia, or Yahoo.

Don't think so, but I've heard that perhaps at least for this game, the writers for Star Trek XI are involved with this one's story.

Maybe thats why it has no website, no nothing.

Maybe its storyline is closely ties into the movie.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed. It was probably originaly intended to come out at the same time as the next film but as that has been delayed so has the game.

Star Trek Game Is "Official Canon" - Gameplay Preview

overseen by movie writers Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman, so expect a compelling narrative that closely follows the fiction of the new film franchise.
It seems to me that Star Trek is moving beyond the "only what you see on screen is canon" and on to "whatever TPTB say is canon is canon".

the update:
Star Trek: The Video Game is "absolutely" canon, making its fiction as official as the J.J. Abrams films between which it is set.
So says Paramount Pictures' senior vice president Brian Miller, who also sits in the producer chair on this game.
in the video interview at the link.
The graphics look really good in the clips I've seen thus far in the game trailers & gameplay clips on YouTube. We'll see about the story though.
