Some scenery for Star Trek 2 will be filmed in Iceland, according to TrekMovie.com. The filming crew, Star Trek‘s 2nd unit, which is headed up by ILM’s visual effects supervisor Roger Guyette, will be filming visual effects shots, not action scenes. Did they shoot the snow planet scenes in the last movie there?

Iceland looked spectacular in Batman Begins and in this season of Game of Thrones.

While there had been reports that they were scouting sites in Iceland, no shooting was actually done there, to the best of my knowledge. Most of the shooting for the ice planet scenes was done in the parking lot at Dodger Stadium.
 
Perhaps a return to Delta Vega (even if it was all CG last time), or maybe Rura Penthe (which, IIRC, STVI's Trek across the frozen wastelands was filmed there)?
