Well one of them had Kirk meeting his Dad in some time travel shenanigans. Probably an excuse to bring Hemsworth in even though it’s been shown time and time again he’s not a draw.

Humans, Vulcans and a new alien race all vying for an artifact with the ability to potentially restore Vulcan. Somehow Kirk and Spock were to meet their older Prime Universe counterparts played by Nimoy and Shatner.
I thought Shatner and Nimoy were going to play older versions of their Kelvinverse selves, although with all these rumors it's hard to keep track.
Kirk and Spock try to reset the timeline back to prime to prevent deaths of Kirk’s father and Spock’s mother. I think Orci called it “The last temptation of Kirk and Spock”. And William Shatner was going to play old Kirk somehow.
Rescuing his mommy is more important than the other 13 billion Vulcans caught planetside when Nero attacked.
The needs of the few, or the one outweigh the needs of the many.
Here is the exact comment Orci makde about his ST3 story:
“Chase for doohickey against Annunaki to reset back to prime timeline. Theme: The Last temptation of Kirk And Spock”

And Shatner would have played prime Kirk. I think this would have been better than Beyond. Also the 2 writers who worked with Orci on the script then wrote the ST4 script. Considering that both scripts involve Kirk's dad they may have borrowed some ideas from Orci's story.

It would have been way too inside baseball and done the same numbers as Beyond, which at least aimed for the casuals but failed to get any due to under promotion.
I wonder if Orci's 3 would've had Hemsworth in some capacity? maybe there'd have been a brief poignant scene with Kirk & his pop and maybe even Spock/Winona.
Actually a Hemsworth cameo would've probably been more powerful than bringing him back properly in a full guest starring role to help sell the movie because.. Thor/Avengers

^ agreed, I belive that alot of these ideas for movies/tv should have a shot at a book or comic as an elseworld type stuff.
and they could tweak Beyond abit so the Abronath is a time device, the planet is ancient earth and Krall and co are the Annunaki, the Franklin is the NX01 Enterprise, the Yorktown is 23rd century earth, the JJprise being destroyed gets moved near the end of the film attempting to repair the timeline fighting Nero and the Narada, and have Shatner film a few scenes in his backyard with a socially distanced Pine discussing destiny and stuff #ReleasetheOrciCut
And now this all makes sense.
