FINALS:

1. STAR TREK PARAMOUNT 3,860 3,117,839 808 n/a 158,653,970
2. ANGELS & DEMONS SONY 3,527 2,947,014 836 n/a 57,491,814
3. X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE FOX 3,892 956,416 246 -44% 154,442,700

Star Trek is back in the #1 spot with 3.12 million. Star Trek dropped 7.3% from Tuesday.

For comparisons, "Iron Man" dropped 8.2% on its second Wednesday to $3.08 million, "Wolverine" dropped 10% to $1.71 million, and Batman Begins dropped 30.9% to $2.57 million.

The international take is up to $74,286,778, bringing the worldwide total to $232.94 million.

On an aside, Terminator Salvation made an estimated $3 million from midnight showings. Since Paramount apparently manipulated the numbers for Trek's opening, I'm not going to compare them.

It would be interesting to see what impact T4 will have on Thursday's numbers.

Today will take it past the $160 Million Mark, even by the skin of its teeth.

I remember that lost weekend. It was truly pathetic. I remember thinking "well at least the Two Towers is coming out".

Re: Star Trek #1 - $3.12 M Wednesday - $159 M domestic - $233 M worldw

This is undoubtedly the last day for Star Trek at #1, but it will carry on with solid numbers to reach it's final domestic intake of $240m - $275m. God bless everyone whose worked on Star Trek; fine job at bringing us a wonderful piece of filmmaking and a hopeful vision of the future. Thank you. :techman:

P.S. What's the deal about Paramount manipulating the IMAX figures?

The first time in about 13 years a TREK movie's business has remained strong the second week out going into the third. Great news! About time!

I'm glad I helped contribute.

I brought a friend to watch it and they LOVED it.

My three viewings definitely contributed.
