Star Ship AJAX Production

Just a quick update: Casting is under way! Nearly 40 roles to fill, counting a scientific group and families, assorted redshirts/nondescript crewmembers and such...we'll have our hands full! Spread the word!
 
I suspect the movie that's coming out about backyard Hollywood, central feature being ... yeah, James Cawley, will help you find cast and crew. People will check out Phase II, start whining, "Why can't I live in rural Upstate New York" (you can, it's finding a job there that's a pain, the real property is cheap and plentiful)... anyway, there will be people like that all over the country, and they will fill personnel requirements for their local fan films. Come to think of it...I better update my Star Trek Fan Filmmakers' map!

EDIT: That's Backyard Blockbusters, not Backyard Hollywood. Sorry.

Work continued this week due to the "small break" we've had with the high temps here.
Turbo lift is now reconstructed, w/ workin' doors. Inside trim and cosmetics still to come.
Upper screen frames have been constructed and checked for accurate sizing. Some putty work and sanding next on those.... General touch'n up on this & that, then get ready to "re-paint". Progression moving forward again............

Phase one of auditions went really well, and it looks like we've got some interesting choices. We still have a second wave (and call-backs) to contend with, (some folks just couldn't make it, so we'll have to set up another round for them) but I'm hoping we can make cast announcements by the end of October.

don't stop now! keep going! if there's any chance that you might need voice overs let us know so we can send auditions for them!

That may very well be! The kind of chatter you get over comm when damage reports are coming in, that sort of thing....i.e. "Deck 6 section 22b; we've got a loss of pressurization! We're working to seal it off!" or "Deck 3 rec hall 2; we've got a major power loss and the door's been sealed...we've got 14 people trapped in there!" "Half the main power bussports and routers are off line! We need a crew in here pronto!" Stuff like that...you could ad-lib almost anything along those lines and send it off to me in a sound file...Thrilled to have it!!

I had a voice actor friend of mine record a bunch of comm chatter in various voices for Polaris, and it adds immeasurably to the mis-en-scène.
