Pretty nice production values and a lot funnier than most of these failed parodies we see (and a lot of the ones that actually were produced). Maybe the networks were afraid to pull the trigger after Homeboys From Outer Space.

I'm sure if Johnathan Frakes had produced multiple animated comedy series that made FOX a ton of money over the previous decade back in 2000 - FOX would have greenlit this series as a thank you and keep it going for two seasons as the ratings tanked and another service desperate for content picked it up for a third...oh, wait...

Jason Alexander has the funny bits in it. Surprise! It's a pilot made in 2000 that plays like a show from - what year did Fox launch - okay, a show from the mid-80s. And most of the humor is Trek-oriented, fan-friendly in-joke stuff, very much like the aforementioned Homeboys.

This is dreadful, try-too-hard, bad-SNL-level humour. Exactly what I'd expect if Berman-era Trek tried to parody itself. And that line about the legal age being 12 and the strippers? Critical yikes.

Cool to see those old Trek sets again.
