I’m not entirely sure this counts as art, but I’m posting a link to some large (3,000 x 3,000 pixel) .png images I’ve done:

A while ago, I drew a map of the Romulan Neutral Zone, based on the map seen in “Star Trek: Nemesis”. This is a kind of follow-up, showing a more general view of the space around the Solar System, and calling out stars that have been mentioned in “Star Trek”, and are close enough to Earth to appear on the maps. Some of them are 100% real, some are fairly certain identifications and others are guesses from various sources, and with wildly different degrees of plausibility.
The “XY” view should at least slightly resemble the maps in the “Star Trek Star Charts”, although these are my maps, so I’ve thrown in a few changes, because I wanted to. All of the stars shown correspond to real astronomical objects, and the positions are as accurate as my abilities will allow. The only completely fictitious thing I’ve put in is the Badlands.
I also drew the “side view,” the XZ maps. This is the view looking towards the centre of the Galaxy, and I don’t think anyone has drawn a map like this since the old “Star Trek Maps”. The end result wasn’t really what I was expecting. When I’ll get around to looking at this further depends on how much time I have and what I feel like doing. In the meantime, I’ve posted what I have in case anyone would like a look.
Since the stars are (fairly) accurate to what’s in real outer space, but the labels for them are a lot less certain, I’ve also posted “blank” versions without any labels at all, just in case those are more useful.
This shouldn’t be seen as any kind of a “nit-picking” exercise. There are plenty of errors in these maps, because I’m still learning, and because sometimes things just go unexpectedly wrong. I have absolutely no idea why Kotaki has ended up where it did, but I’m sure it wasn’t supposed to.
