ST XI on CSI

I just saw the promo for this weeks episode of CSI, where a murder happens during a sci-fi convention. I may be wrong about this because at the time I was cleaning out my cats litterbox so I didn't see it all, but I think a couple scenes will take place on the STXI Enterprise bridge set. And from what I did see, it looks like this episode will be used to promote the new movie. Has anyone else seen this promo, and if you did, will you be tuning in thursday for this episode?

I'll be watching it, but there are no scenes using any of the ST XI sets. There is a very inexpensive and probably deliberately tacky bridge set for a series called "Astro Quest."

Say what you will, but the original TOS bridge was done up in grays and blues. IT looked very professional, and even almost military.

Of course, that had to go, so they did it up in black and red. As you say, deliberately tacky.

Be that as it may, we're not talking about Star Trek - the CSI episode is about Astro Quest. I take it you're not a Quester? ;)

I am not, so I refer to those which are dedicated to all that nonsense Questies. They seem to hate that. I also anger them by telling them that the creator of Astro Quest, Pant Staffenfruit, only turned to Sci-fi because no one would hire him as a firefighter.

Astro Quest, Galaxy Quest, what's the difference?
You, sir, are a barbarian! GQ is a mere pretender, while AQ is the original series, the greatest space opera ever!!!11!

And don't even think about calling us 'Questies'!

My favourite episode of AQ was 'Tread Lightly On This World'. The guest starring of Charlton Heston was great casting!

Nah, GQ had the better uniforms and ships. Although, AQ was certainly better than that derivative space station series, Eden 3.

bah it cant hold a candle to
"do not weep for the stars"
of course who can ignore the double meaning that isnt just about super nova's but the probable fate of the casts futures.

I'm watching the CSI episode now...

The situation in the episode is a lot like both Star Trek and BSG. A producer (who turns out to be the dead body) is making an old TV show "Astroquest" (the looks like Star Trek) into a more realistic/gritty verion, or Astroquest Redux.

The funniest scene is when he shows a sneek peek of his new show to fans at a convention, the fans all hate it and begin to verbally revolt against him...

...and here's the best part -- Ronald D. Moore plays the first fan who stands up and tells the producer "You Suck!"

EDIT TO ADD: Starship Polaris beat me to the punch again (I need to take MORE typing lessons).
