Hi, folks! On Oct. 22nd I made the four-hour drive from NJ to Ticonderoga, NY to see the TOS set reproductions of James Cawley, the ones he used to shoot New Voyages/Phase II. Doug Drexler was giving the tours that day as a special event, and I took a TON of pictures and enjoyed myself thoroughly. You can read my write-up about it here:

Hope you enjoy!

Why did Cawley stop doing his episodes and has the newer shows with Vic Mignona really finished? Is their last one ready on YouTube yet?

My understanding is Paramount wants to limit productions to short one-offs.

Huge props to Mr. Cawley and his team. That's wonderful work. To care that much about details. I think our gschnitzer -- sorry for bad spelling -- is the props master and a producer. I'm on my old ipad so i can't leave this window and look that up, BUT much thanks to all involved!

Yes, the spelling of my username is correct.

The entire Star Trek New Voyages / Phase II (and now, the Star Trek The Original Series Set Tour) have both been collective projects by a lot of people over a lot of years now. I'm glad our team has been able to make our love and passion for Trek manifest--and now others can come and partake of the cumulative work of a lot of people--some o whom have moved on to other things, and some of whom have moved on to The Great Beyond. For those who can make what will really be a pilgrimage for you, I encourage you to do so. For others, we understand that Upstate New York is just not convenient for you.

At any fate, thanks to our many supporters during our various projects.

Is this an ongoing thing we can go see or was it just a temporary tour sorta thing?

I'm on the other side of the continent form New York, but it's not inconceivable that I might get there sometime. Some day.

It's an ongoing thing, but Doug Drexler leading the tour was a special event. That's why I made a point of going on the 22nd. As I wrote in the piece, at one point Drexler was called out of the tour and one of the regular tour guides was able to take over smoothly until he returned. Everyone there seemed knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

You can get tickets to the tour at startrektour.com.
