ST:FC soundtrack integration

Ziz

Commodore
Commodore
I have my ST:FC CD ripped to my computer and I just downloaded all the supplementary/alternate tracks from TrekCore. Does anyone have a list of how to integrate the two to form one complete soundtrack - which tracks from the CD go in between which ones from TrekCore?

I'll be doing Trek VI and Nemesis at some point as well, so if anyone's got those listings, might as well add to the fun. :)

I think Ziz is attempting to put the tracks in proper order by mixing the extra and alternate tracks he downloaded with the cues on the official album release.

This is the order I have in iTunes:

Main Title
Locutus
The Enterprise-E / Captain's Log
Starfleet Engages the Borg
Red Alert
Temporal Wake
April 4th, 2063
Greetings
First Sign of Borg
39.1 Degrees Celsius
Approaching Engineering
Retreat
Data Awakes in Engineering
Assimilation
Welcome Aboard
The Gift of Flesh
Definitely Not Swedish
Watch your Caboose, Dix
Fully Functional
The Dish (Film Version)
Bridge Argument
A Quest for Vengeance
Evacuate
The Escape Pods / Into the Lion's Den
The Starship Chase
Resistance is Futile!
The Future Restored / Victory Over The Borg
First Contact
End Credits

This. I'm trying to put together as complete a score as possible in film scene sequence.

Thanks, Brikar. Got listings for TUC and NEM?

I'm not sure many understand what it is you're doing are hoping to accomplish.

He's hoping to accomplish a complete soundtrack with the tracks in order.

I had the same thought, but with all the complete soundtracks coming out over the past year, I figure it's only matter of time before the complete score to FC is released.

I thought it was okay as long as we're not talking about where or how to get them?

You did discuss where you got them - TrekCore. See below, your first post:

Bootlegged soundtracks are still bootlegged. And bootlegging them takes money out of the pockets of the people who work on them and make them available to us to purchase. You've essentially stolen money from the purveyors of that soundtrack simply because it was "there."

Matter of perspective. Paramount apparently doesn't have a problem with it (what, you think they don't have someone monitoring Trek content outside the official site?) because if they did, TC would have been told to take it down. In fact, the only music TC DID take down was for Insurrection, and that was at the request of GNP Crescendo, not Paramount.

If the material is being offered for free through a non-piracy oriented site, how is it stealing?

And just out of curiosity, are you the same doubleohfive that's heavily involved with Adywan's Star Wars Revisited projects?

It is more than just a 'matter of perspective.'

1) It's expressly stated in the board policy that discussing this kind of thing is against the rules. Linking to it is also frowned upon as well.

2) Whether or not TrekCore has been asked to take anything down or not is not the point. The point is legally, it doesn't have the right to be distributing it. Whether Paramount knows that or not is not the issue. The issue is that you stumbled upon this, and are now advertising it, to the detriment of the people who would otherwise be earning money for their work. (i.e. the soundtrack labels and producers).

3) Morally, what you are doing essentially amounts to petty theft.

The musicians aren't being compensated. The studio isn't being compensated. The producer isn't being compensated. Should I go on? But of course you know all this, but you still think it's alright anyway because you want the music.

Let me ask you this: are you going to buy the new Star Trek VI album that just came out today?

Neil

Of course I'll buy the new Trek VI if I can afford it before it disappears (facing money issues right now). I didn't know it was coming out as I don't avidly follow soundtrack music. Now that I know about it, it saves me the work of doing it myself. It also wouldn't surprise me if TC took down their files now that the full TUC soundtrack is coming out.

I stumbled onto the TrekCore stuff as I was browsing the site for screen cap references for model projects I'm working on. If FC and NEM extended scores ever come out, I'll buy them too.

Well that's on Ziz, cuz I didn't get anything from Trekcore.
