Interesting cover art. A refit Connie which is not the Enterprise (with a conspicuously missing registry number) being built with a different nav deflector and lower dome. And that poor little Miranda in the distance doesn't even rate her own drydock to get a nacelle replaced.
You can see the same variant design in one of Tobias Richter's SotL images (December 2022), as the Constitution. It's got some interesting differences. You can see in the book cover the Rec Deck is moved to the front of the saucer, and there are some other differences in the window pattern, and the thrusters are along the beam and length rather than diagonally, though the phaser banks are diagonal.
I hope we get to see this design again, I love these little variants. The Venture in DS9, the M5 fleet in TOS-R, every ship should have just a little fun individual twist on it.
The book is good, too. Had some interesting ideas in the lore breakdowns for the ships.
