ST 11 - F I N N E G A N ! ! !

It mentions on the memory-alpha wiki that the relationship took place somethime "around the Academy Years". Not sure they ever pinned it down in the actual episode.

Ya know... I was also thinking of a hobbit... but not that one.

Dominic Monaghan... aka Merry... that's actually not a bad suggestion at all, at least in terms of how he carries himself. I'm having a hard time picturing him as someone who goes around kicking Kirk's butt, though...

I was actually thinking of him, too, but couldn't remember the name. And isn't he on Lost?

Well, the first line in the WIKI article reads:
Dominic Bernard Patrick Luke Monaghan[1] (born December 8, 1976) is an English actor. He has received international attention from the success of playing Merry Brandybuck in Peter Jackson's adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and his role as Charlie Pace on the television show Lost.
So I guess he was, huh?

Well not any more anyway - his character died.

Walk around your local mall and ask people about "Kirk" and "Spock." I would bet real money that you get more than a few blank stares. ;)

...followed by, "oh right, those guys from Star Wars."

^^^^Yeah, but at least they are in the right neighborhood. You mention Finnegan and they'll think you are looking for the local Irish pub.

He'd be brilliant as Gary Mitchell.

He's talented enough that he'd be great as anyone. Slap a wig on him and call him Christine Chapel.

The mind boggles! A kinky twist to Star Trek but I'm sure there would be an audience.Quite funny mental images though!

Finnegan or Decker could be played by the guy from Dexter. He's got the right looks.

Michael C. Hall. Excellent actor. He's been pretty popular as a suggestion for Kirk. He's my runner up behind Eion Bailey. He could also be Gary Mitchell.

Michael C. Hall as Gary Mitchell?

*Bob ponders away for a moment.*

Temis, that's a good call. I could easily accept Hall as Mitchell.

Gotta say, I am old enough to remember that guy holding up Molly Ringwalds panties in the high school boys bathroom. But he really floored me in 'Dead Zone'... I agree, he'd be a terrific choice. :)

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Anthony Michael Hall, not Michael C. Hall...

Opps... :o

Finnegan can be played by Rick Berman doing a really bad Irish accent. Just to get the correct level of annoying.
