Let's shoehorn everyone in! I've been wondering - who should play Spock's parents?

Sarek - Robert Duvall (close enough looks assuming the assistance of the makeup dept, more than enough talent for any role)
Amanda - Julianne Moore (okay not quite old enough, but they can age her a bit - she has that graceful, ladylike, intelligent quality that Amanda needs)

Quinto and the other guy will be lucky to get a scene or two before this is over.

If the first movie's a success, there will be more, and/or a return to TV, so we might as well start casting everyone (pre-McCoy, Sulu, etc dream team) because they'll be needed, right?

Pike - Ron Livingston (he doesn't HAVE to have blue eyes, does he? if so, contact lenses solve that problem)

Robert April - for some reason, I've always envisioned him looking like Edward Norton, so that's my choice

Dominic Monaghan... aka Merry... that's actually not a bad suggestion at all, at least in terms of how he carries himself. I'm having a hard time picturing him as someone who goes around kicking Kirk's butt, though...

I've always thought that Matt Damon would be a better fit for Pike than Kirk. Heck, I suppose that's not even completely out of the question yet. He seemed interested in Kirk, he might go for this consolation prize if it were offered (if I ran the zoo).

Also, Dylan Baker (Dr. Connors in the Spider movies) always reminded me of Commodore Decker, although I'm not sure if he could actually carry the part.

Not sure what countries you guys come from, but Captain Jack is a superb character in Dr Who and Torchwood!

Michael C. Hall. Excellent actor. He's been pretty popular as a suggestion for Kirk. He's my runner up behind Eion Bailey. He could also be Gary Mitchell.
