This looks like the 23rd century equivalent of a local bus that's been in service for decades. Good.![]()
I wouldn't be surprised if the "shuttle/bus" was a transport for Enterprise workers.

Then why not ditch the baggage outright and make a new show? If you want to 'ignore all things Trek' to make a new Trek.. why make it Trek at all?
Because they own "Star Trek."
Being able to look at an object, see that its put together withe screws and bolts rather then magically a single unit does speak to function, purpose over design - all those photos tell me that Star Trek (err StarFleet) first is thinking about an objects function before making a cool design that jives with some abstract Utopian ideal.
I can even look at my home computer and say, "ok that's how it functions" there are blinking lights a plenty but also buttons.
Those chairs sure looked ergonomic, and functional more so then the center seat in TOS.

I will admit that it's kinda dumb they spelled it correctly 2nd line from the bottom but wrong on the first line...
They see how popular a show BSG is and everything has to be done in that sytle. Because that is whats hot right now.

While it is true that "Battlestar Galactica" is both the best show on television and my favorite television show, even I would be hard-pressed to claim how wildly popular and "hot" it is right now.
But I like your style!![]()
I think that its was a bad movie to try to redo the look. Real Trek fan (and I am one of them) and not the part time trek fans.
Movies and tv shows tend to resemble the times in which they are produced... I think Nick Mayer made this point in his commentary for Trek II.
None of us should be shocked that a Trek production of our current time period reflects design ethics that fit this desire for "rugged" over clean since producers of such things aren't setting out to make projection (even if after the fact they claim this... that's not what they're paid for), they are setting out to make a movie.
Look at any production and you can see its eras design thinking at work.
LOL That's a new one, and I find it kinda... sad. There is no such thing as a "real" or "full time Star Trek fan". Who exactly makes that determination? Do you need to fill out a form and be vetted?I think that its was a bad movie to try to redo the look. Real Trek fan (and I am one of them) and not the part time trek fans.

I agree it could be, I like it though and the Jacket is Identical to the one from the cageThis looks like the 23rd century equivalent of a local bus that's been in service for decades. Good.![]()

Yes, this seems to be a sign of bad things to come.
From what I see, its has a feel of a StarShip trooper or Aliens,BSG. I think its silly to think that "JJ" has total control over a project like this.
With a budget that high, you know that a few "studio people" will have notes for the movie. These studio people, have the money, but no clue of Trek.

Why not make a $50 million dollar versions of a TOS series. Keep everyhthing the same. You know that it will make the money back in the theaters and DVD sales.
