Spring Anime 2010

So far, this season is already a giant step up from last season  Last season was the first time in years where there wasn't a single anime show I felt like watching. So far I've checked out Angel Beats, B Gata H Kei and Ichiban Ushiro. All of them have been enjoyable, with B Gata H Kei taking top prize so far :D I plan on checking out that maid anime later on today

Kaicho wa Maid-sama looks like typical shoujo fair... which would be fine if it didn't come on the heels of Kimi ni Todoke.

B Gata H Kei is kind of cute for what amounts to a sex-rom-com though, despite it's strange premise.

I just finished up Onomari Himari and I'm not sure what I'll wanna watch of the new season of Anime.

I actually thought about getting around to Kimi ni Todoke. I caught the first few episodes and while decent, I didn't feel like watching it on a weekly basis. I just got all of the episodes from my friend so maybe I'll give it a spin some time and try watching it in bulk.

The one thing I like about B Gata H Kei is that it's a fun twist on the "sex crazed guy" genre ;) I can see it quickly turning to crap but for now it's pretty entertaining

Of course, if every other show turn's to crap this season there will still be k-on!! :D

Yup. It's already raised some interesting questions about double standards because people call her a "slut" while the equally perverted men get a free pass. Although I imagine social commentary is far from their intention..

Angel Beats is pretty interesting, although it's a shame it's only 13 episodes long, considering this is the first show I've managed to sit through an entire fansub of. I might check out Mayoi Neko Overrun too, but most of this stuff doesn't appeal to me.

I've seen the first episode of BGHK. It's hilarious. I also like the "spin" and agree it could turn to crap. As it is, you can pretty much guess how it'll turn out. But as long as they keep it funny...

There isn't much else this season that I'm all that interested in. That Kiss x Sis might be fun--but there's an equally good chance it's terrible.

K-On is and has been in my to-watch cue. Everyone says it's good, but I've kept putting it off for whatever reason.

I still have to watch season three of Nodame. I wanted to wait until it was over. Well it's been over a few weeks now and I totally forgot about it.

Man, there really is too much anime in the world.

Angel Beats- This is probabally the most promising thus far of the season. It's funny and also manages to have an interesting story and bit more violence than KEY's last couple works.

B Gatta H Kei
-Heh, this was pretty amusing I'll stick with it.

Ikki Tousen: Estreme Executors- This so far is much better than the crap that was the last season.

I'm also planning on checking out
Hakuoki: Shinsengumi Kitan
Iron Man
Senko no Nightraid

I'm also still watching Durarara which will continue into the next season. Plus SHAFT is still working on Bakemonogatari and Katanagatari.

Plenty of good looking movies and OVAs to check out too.

While not part of this season, Summer War's came out fan-subbed recently and I had a chance to check it out. I'm going to be honest, I have no idea why there is so much love for it. It was just...so boring

I agree, somewhat, not as good as I thought it was going to be, but definitely watchable and well animated. I suppose I can relate to it better because that big ass family is pretty much spot on like mine on my mother's side; loud, obbnoxious, and even larger since she has 13 other siblings, and they have kids, and their kids have kids....and so on to infinity.:scream:

Summer Wars has been hyped to hell (we've found a new replacement for Miyazaki!!!!!!!!1111!!), so it can't help but disappoint.
The Eden of the East movie came out as well, but I think it'll be a let down for most people.

BGHK just started a few days ago, so there's only the one episode so far.

Well, just watched K-On!! It is everything I expected it to be

I also checked out Arakawa Under the Bridge(which is fun in a random odd sort of way as well) and Hakuouki (which is boring and sort of sucks)

Arakawa is apparently this season's Bakemono.

And yep, K-On!! is K-On!!. Although, they've managed to introduce a little bit of pathos.

Checked out Hakuoki as well. It's mostly just setup for some kind of strange action/reverse harem combination. Hard to see where it will go at this point, I need to watch more episodes. It's very nicely animated though. I can make an informed prediction though,
their commander was injured so they'll probabally get a new one and then they'll all have to pretend Cizuru is a guy and newb that they're training.

Do they? I kinda got the impression that half of fandom believe that K-ON is single-handedly destroying the anime industry. heh It's all right; complete fluff, but complete fluff can be soothing after a hard day.

I don't really agree with that, but then I though Bakemono was a bit pretentious. Arawaka is presented in a much more straightforward way. Personally, I thought it was really amusing.

No one watched Working? Thought it was quite funny.

It's much less girly than Kimi though, with a fairly dry sense of humour. I liked it. That said, I think I'm beginning to succumb to the silly otaku maid fetish, so... :/

I think the issue alot of people have with K-On is all the moe in it. They believe it is going to over take the anime industry and KyoAni will be leading this invasion. The fact that KyoAni and their moe shows have been so successful seems to indicate that these people may be right. I don't care though, cause I still enjoy their stuff

I haven't heard of it, but I'll keep an eye out for it.

I've also recently checked out Giant Killing, which is my first sports anime. Seems alright, time will tell if its worth sticking with though.

Oh, will watch this one. Been wanting to watch a sports anime since getting into Saki and finding the competion stuff quite gripping; but they always seem to be about baseball, which I have absolutely no interest in; I assumed this one was too, but it's about footy! Cool.
