hey RAMA, at Yankee Stadium, have you ever done the bleacher thing like I do? I think you'd have a great time over there.

What do you mean with Forza Azzurri? The Italian national selection?
That's the only thing I can think of. I thought that was more of a cheer than the team name (and by your confusion, I'm guessing I'm right?).
Yes, exactly. Azzurri (azure, sky-blue) is the team's nickname, so it would be translated as "Go, Azures!", similar to French "Allez le Bleus!"

Now that I think of it, there was a try to advertise the team abroad as "Forza Azzurri" (which can also be translated as "Azure Force" during USA 94, but they never used it in Italy.

Funny trivia: in Italy, every team has several nicknames, and one is always based on the team's color. So Juventus FC is Bianconeri (Whitheblacks), FC Inter is Nerazzurri (Blackazures), Roma is Giallorossi (Yellowreds), etc. Weirdest one is Genoa CFC, Blucerchiati (Bluecircled, due to the colored band they have around the chest).

Evidently said advertisement worked in certain quarters: I think of them as the "Blue Force."

Sorry for the confusion.

I enjoy the what I consider the Brits three major sports, footie, cricket & rugger. Now as the teams in footie I support Manchester United (since 1968 and before we won the European Cup that year) and Bromsgrove Rovers, they were first team I saw live. Rugger, Worcester , Cricket again Worcester. I saw a lot of these teams many years ago, but my wife and I now live in the isles so seeing them is difficult. If I was asked which Scottish footie team it would be Aberdeen.
