Sports team favorites and loyalties - post 'em

Well, from a having-fun-being-a-fan point of view, Barcelona probably would be the best choice out of those, they play beautiful offensive football and are generally very successful too. Inter wins all the time too but they are playing pretty boring, Arsenal is the opposite, and Roma is your choice if you like torturing yourself. ;)

FSC doesn't show every single match from both leagues, as far as I know. Every time I see them showing an EPL or Serie A match it usually includes at least one of the same batch of teams (Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Fulham, Hotspurs, Liverpool, Roma, Inter, A.C. Milan, Juventus, etc.) So I unfortunately can't get as much exposure to all of the teams as I'd like.

I definitely find English football more entertaining than Italian football, though. And I really wish I could see La Liga, the Bundesliga, and Ligue 1, but I don't think I get any channels that carry any teams from them outside of, say, the UEFA Champions' League (which FSC does air, though I doubt they show every single match).

I only watch other leagues occasionally also.
If you really want, there are plenty of semi-legal options (well, actually it's probably straight illegal ;)) of watching these games; google "atdhe" or "myp2p".

Any Parisan teams, the rest of France finds us so annoying that's nearly glorious
(thats weird, I like so much being a little annoying :wtf: )

NHL: Vancouver Canucks

WHL: Vancouver Giants

NFL: San Francisco 49ers

Footy: chelsea Chelsea CHELSEA

I have a friend who's a Juventus fan. Not sure why.
Because we are awesome, obviously. :techman:

BTW, what does the AC in teams like AC Milan stand for? I'm guessing something Calcio, but I don't really know.
Associazione Calcio, Football Association.

[Skywalker beaten me to it.]

As for US teams, I confess I have a soft spot for the Boston Celtics for NBA and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (both due to Leprechaunish sympathies), but I don't really follow them.
Why are you supporting so many Irish teams? You're a crappy Italian! :p
But I like leprechauns! (and I also look like one! Well, not sure why I'm proud of this, but still...)

When they start christening teams with names like the New York Goodfellas or the Chicago Pizzaioli, I will reconsider. :p

Inter wins all the time too but they are playing pretty boring,
That's just because they whine so much about everything that in the end they often get away with what they want. Me, bitter? Nah...! :shifty:

Football: St. Louis Rams
Basketball: Los Angeles Lakers
Baseball: Los Angeles Angels
College Football: USC

I grew up in Los Angeles, as you can probably guess.

:techman:

So why the Angels and not the Dodgers?

My mother was a die hard Dodgers fan. She was nuts about them. She always had a game on.

So I guess part of it was to be different. But also, when I was a kid, the Angels were Nolan Ryan, Reggie Jackson, Rod Carew, Fred Lynn, Bobby Grich. There were some great players back then.

College Football: Rutgers Scarlet Knights primarily (though I also root for Air Force)

College Basketball: St. John's Red Storm (and Big East)

Professional (American) Football: Arizona Cardinals in the NFC, New York Jets in the AFC

Soccer: Forza Azzurri and Team USA

Tennis: Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray in men's tennis, and whoever's playing Serena Williams, including Venus

Professional Baseball: New York Mets

Professional Basketball: Whoever strikes my fancy, including Boston, Dallas, New Jersey and New York

Professional Hockey: New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers

I'm also starting to get into the Husker baseball team. At least then I can go see games semi-regularly since Lincoln is only an hour away.

I don't go to Omaha Royals games since their stadium sucks and it's so hard to park downtown where it is. Fortunately they're getting a new ballpark in Sarpy County which will be a lot easier to get to...same goes for the College World Series which is also getting a new park.

College football and basketball- Colorado State (my alma mater)

Football (NFL)- Denver Broncos, but have a soft spot for the Washington Redskins.

Baseball- New York Mets are the only team I've supported my entire life! But I'm rather fond of the Colorado Rockies, because I lived in Colorado when they got the team. And I like the Washington Nationals just 'cause I live near D.C. and it's fun to go to games. But the Mets are the team I root for first.

NBA- Denver Nuggets, but I really don't follow basketball as much as I did in college.

NHL- Colorado Avalanche, but will root for the Washington Capitals occasionally!

ETA- I'll end up supporting the football team of whatever college my nephew ends up at- so I could be rooting for Virginia Tech next year. That's his top choice, but he may not get in. *crosses fingers*

^I've always had a soft spot for the Broncos. My Dad went there for work a lot when I was a kid and I had a lot of memorabilia.

I'm just going to pretend baseball doesn't exist until the playoffs come around this year. Mr. Met doll may get thrown in the fireplace after the season to purge all the bad karma.
