Sports team favorites and loyalties - post 'em

So I know that there are people from all over the world here - I'd like to see what you guys consider your favorite teams in any major sport that you follow:

Me, it's mostly my hometown, Denver - I've lived here for 30 years, but I was born in Los Angeles, CA. Thus my basketball tie.

Football (american): Denver Broncos
Basketball: Denver Nuggets 1a) Los Angeles Lakers
Baseball: Yankees (how'd that happend) 1a) Colorado Rockies
Hockey - NHL: Colorado Avalanche
Golf: Tiger Woods
Tennis: Federer and Serena Williams

My allegiances are basically tied to my state. Go Michigan!

NFL: Detroit Lions (yeah they suck, but they can't suck forever right?)

College: Michigan and Grand Valley State. (My dad raised me a Michigan fan, and I go to GVSU)

NBA: Detroit Pistons (they have been good for awhile, I'm looking forward to the new team this year)

NHL: Detroit Red Wings (this is by far the team I'm the biggest die-hard fan of. I still haven't looked at much NHL news since they lost the Cup)

MLB: Detroit Tigers (of all the major sports, this is the one I paid the least attention to over the years. I'd follow the Tigers, but they were bad for so long it wasn't much fun). I pay attention to and follow the Phillies because of friends here, but I can't really claim to be a die-hard Phillies fan.

Babaganoosh - I forgot to mention college football and basketball.

Grew up rooting USC - still do - but at heart I love CU and CSU. If they played each other Colorado all the way.

College basketball -- while I LOVE watching it, I don't have a specific team to root for. Just love the energy.

Baseball: San Francisco Giants
Basketball: Golden State Warriors
Football: San Francisco 49ers
Hockey: San Jose Sharks
College Football: Cal and Stanford
College Basketball: Cal and Stanford
Golf: Tiger Woods
Nascar: Jeff Gordon

Baseball: Boston Red Sox, but I also have a soft spot for the Seattle Mariners (spent part of my childhood in Alaska).
Pro Football: New England Patriots. I also kind of support the New York Giants (lots of older family members are fans)--except in Super Bowl XLII! :klingon:
College Football: None really, but I kind of support Oklahoma because they're my dad's team, and Boston College because they're local.
Soccer: New England Revolution. I'm sensing a pattern here... :p

I don't really follow basketball or hockey, but I passively root for the Celtics and Bruins since they're the local teams.

I'm definitely a local team fan, too. What I don't like are fairweather fans that root when a team is winning and not support when not doing well. I mean, take the Rockies - bad for so long. But they're our team - I want them to do well, but when they're not playing well (For a season) I generally won't watch/go to games, but that doesn't mean I don't root for them.

Rugby League - Parramatta Eels (and NSW in State Of Origin).
Cricket - NSW Blues & Australia

Don't really follow any of the teams in either the AFL, Super 15 Rugby Union or the A-League. Use to follow what was happening with Leeds United, Leeds Rhinos and Phoenix Suns in their various competitions.

Rugby: ACT Brumbies, Wallabies and Fiji (when not against Australia, with the only exception 7s where I prefer Fiji over Australia)

Rugby League: Canberra Raiders, NSW Blues, Australia

Cricket: Australian national team

Tennis: Federer and the "it" woman of womens tennis aka the hottest one.

Swimming: Use to follow a number of swimmers but they have since retired

1. College football - Penn State
2. MLB - Philadelphia Phillies
3. NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
4. NFL - Philadelphia Eagles
5. NBA - none

This is ranked. Penn State is by far my most passionate thing. The Flyers used to be #2, but I can't watch their games anymore (don't get CSN or Versus) so I've lost touch a bit and they've slipped. Plus it's still the offseason. The Eagles I'm barely a fan of, just because I have trouble caring about the NFL. Too corporate. NCAAF is much better.

My general rule is I'll cheer any team from Indiana at any time. There are exceptions made to this rule where Purdue is concerned.

College Football - Indiana Hoosiers
College Basketball - Indiana Hoosiers
Pro Football - Indianapolis Colts
Pro Basketball - Indiana Pacers

College Football - I support the Delaware Blue Hens and Penn State Nittany Lions, but I don't live and die for them like I do professional sports.

College Basketball - Villanova Wildcats, Temple Owls, St. Joe's Hawks. Same deal as above - especially because they're all rivals and hate each other. I have no business claiming to be a true fan of any of those teams.

The rest of this list will follow a pretty clear trend:

Football: Philadelphia Eagles. I will also root for the Baltimore Ravens in a game, provided that, if they win, it can't possibly hurt the Eagles and they haven't done anything recently that could piss me off.

Basketball: Philadelphia 76ers

Hockey: Philadelphia Flyers

Baseball: Philadelphia Phillies

MLB: 1. Atlanta Braves 2. Chicago Cubs
NFL: 1. Chicago Bears 2. Atlanta Falcons
NCAA Football: Georgia Bulldogs

Baseball: Boston Red Sox and I have a soft spot for the Phils, since I live in Philly...but its not really close in the fan dept.

Football: New England Patriots

While I don't really follow hockey and basketball, it's safe to assume I support the Celtics and Bruins as well.

NFL: Green Bay Packers

MLB: Minnesota Twins

NHL: Minnesota Wild

College: Gophers for all, but I'm more of a casual fan when it comes to college sports. I'll watch and root for them (especially hockey), but I'm not a die-hard follower.

Not a fan of the NBA, but I'll watch the Timberwolves once in a while.

Football- Kilmarnock, Liverpool.
American Football- Washington Redskins.
Baseball- NY Mets.
F1- I follow favorite drivers, of the current crop, Alonso & Button are my favs.

BRG

NFL - Baltimore Ravens. Also, I'll be rooting for the Jets this year as they're like half Raven and not a threat.
NCAA Basketball - Maryland (Fuck Duke!) Also, Virginia, but that's rarely a factor.

Um, that's it, really.

Football: Philadelphia Eagles. I will also root for the Baltimore Ravens in a game, provided that, if they win, it can't possibly hurt the Eagles and they haven't done anything recently that could piss me off.

Like...beating the Iggles? :p
