Spocks the word !!

Nero's Shadow

Captain
Captain
Ok I love Spock and over 79 episodes seven films and his appearances in TNG he's had some great one liners and quotes. So here's my favourite. ?

From star trek six at the end of the film when they tell the enterprise to come home and the crew to stand down, Spock says if I were human I would say go to hell if I was human !!! Love that quote priceless.

So what yours .?

Not sure I could pick ONE, Spock has a lot of great lines. But this is one of my favorites, also from TUC.

Kirk
: "Spock, you wanna know something? Everybody's human."
Spock: "I find that remark...insulting."

For a moment I thought that you had beaten me to it. Mine is from The Menagerie:
"KIRK: Er, Mister Spock, when you're finished, please come back and see me. I want to talk to you. This regrettable tendency you've been showing lately towards flagrant emotionalism...
SPOCK: I see no reason to insult me, sir. I believe I've been completely logical about the whole affair."

AMOK TIME:
"After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true." - Spock to Stonn, on winning T'Pring

It's very difficult to choose just one quote for Spock. But if I have to choose the one I find most representative of what makes Spock a great character, it would be the following:

"I have been and always shall be your friend. Live long and prosper." (To Kirk in Wrath of Khan)

The ST 2 novelisation has some great Spock lines, that never made it to the film. Very wise. I like all of 'Amok time'.

I thought Zachary Quinto's portrayal was superb and had some great lines like "Get out of the chair" but best of all was when he turned down entry into the Science Academy and responded "Live long and Prosper" - the tone was spot on!

Can't remember which episode, but: "I shall never understand the human propensity for saying in ten words, what could as easily be said with five."

Thus ironically complaining about a lack of brevity with the most long-winded comment possible.

"I am what I am, Leila, and if there are self-made purgatories, then we all have to live in them. Mine can be no worse than someone else's."

From This Side of Paradise, of course.
