Spock vs. Data vs. Odo

These three characters were meant to represent ouside commentary on humanity. I´ve excluded characters from the last two series. Neelix was originally supposed to be such commentator but that kinda backfired. EMH might have some aspirations but he was for the most part comic relief and overloaded by personal quirks. I dont know if including Seven of nine next to Spock wouldn´t earn me eternal damnation on these boards and I haven´t seen enough Enterprise to think about T´Pol.
Question is, who of these characters has the most interesting experience and is overall the best? Without trying to doubt Spock´s iconical image and Odo´s story I would like to say I like Data´s innocence and „naivity“ the most.

No one ever surpasses one's first love. So I voted for Spock. He was the first outsider to whom I was exposed.

Odo and Spock are both the best and perfectly-played & written.

Data was immensely annoying due to wanting desperately to be human. So glad they didn't repeat that with Odo.

I've got to give it to Data too, TNG was the first Star Trek I saw, and I always liked Data best of the crew. I never really knew what to think of Odo, but Spock is very cool too.

I like Data's character just fine, but I don't think he was very good at delivering an outside perspective on humans.

In retrospect, I regret that Spock wasn't allowed to critique humans more. Unlike Data and Odo, he was a representative of a successful alternative culture.

Speaking of which, shouldn't Quark be in the poll? He was an outsider, too. Remember his explanation about how root beer is the perfect metaphor for human culture?

spock's my faverouite out of the three, didn'y like data in the early season's but he gradaully grew on me

Spock is not just the best Star Trek character ever, he's the best fictional character ever.

Odo is also a great character but Data was too one-note to really last long before wearing out his welcome.

I have to go with Spock partly because he's #1 on my Top Trek Characters of all-time list, but also because I can identify with him so well.

I like Odo too, but nobody can surpass Spock's greatness and Data I thought was an interesting character in the early seasons of TNG, but soon got fairly bland and just downright annoying.

I'm surprised "The Doctor" and Seven of Nine aren't choices for their "outside" commentary. I definately vote for Data on this one, it was so sad to see him die. Odo was a fool, and I never grew up on spock :-(.

Spock for me.

Odo has never been my favorite DS9 character. The only time I really like him is when he's paired with Quark in a scene.

I once liked Data...but now he's just annoying.

He was still primary comic relief and poll has already strong DS9 representative.

Spock, closely followed by Odo for me from those listed, but I prefer Tuvok/7/EMH/Torres/Quark to be honest.

I would say that Phlox would be a good candidate from Enterprise as he was actively wanting to learn and know more about humanity while at the same time commenting on human foibles and not rejecting his own culture.

Very hard to pick between the three but I chose Data. I first got into Trek with TNG and I liked Data from the start. I'm a Niner and just started to get into TOS but like said above, he was the first "outsider" for me.
