Why that? Nemesis was a TNG era sequel, wasn't it?
I don't think Spock would've involved himself w/ Uhura until after T'Pring was sucked into wherever she went - and for that we're all glad - but after that they have all my blessings to Pon Farr all they wish. However if Spock and T'Pring were 'trothed in JJ-verse the turnaround time is pretty short to launch into a new relationship - which showed seeds before Vulcan's actual destruction (deployment of cadets-assigment to ships). Unless that was designed to show Spock's complete unhinging. Which is unfair to Uhura. and seems not part of JJ's design/vision.
Yeah, I don't see it.
Heh.
Sorry.
I don't think Spock and Uhura had any sort of romantic relationship in the prime universe but the potential was there. The flirtation between them in The Man Trap and Charlie X was certainly more interesting than Nurse Chapel's infatuation with Spock would ever be. One of Trek's missed opportunities, for sure.
He did rob me of a TNG/DS9 era sequel.
You really think Abrams is why another TNG era movie wasn't made ?
And that it would have been made if he and his team hadn't been involved with Trek ?

And there you have your answer why no more TNG movies were made. Why that? Nemesis was a TNG era sequel, wasn't it?
And considering how much of a cow T'Pring was in the prime universe
Yeah, I don't see it.
Heh.
Sorry.
Me neither.
Abramsverse Uhura seems more assertive, which probably made the difference. My quatloos say that Uhura, the budding xenolinguist, signed up for an Advanced Vulcan course - Vulcan being a notorious challenge for humans - and guess who the teacher was? Uhura took one look and decided that the Vulcan language wasn't the only interesting challenge in the room.
Damn, I'm drifting into gooey fanfic territory. I should just stop.![]()
