I have no idea when Spike will show In the Hands of the Prophets, prolly after Way of the Warrior and before The Visitor. That Spike magic at it again.

ROFL! That made me laugh a lot IRL. It's funny because it's true.

TPTB of DS9 should have stipulated that before any network could buy reruns to it, they would have to agree to show it 100% in order and uncut. Yeah I know, that would never really happen in a million years. I'm just sayin' that is what a show with the integrity of DS9 needs in order to be viewered properly. It speaks to the great quality of the DS9 show that networks are both too dumb & too concerned with profits to air it properly. Basically, DS9 is way too good for the networks it airs on.

I agree. While appreciate Spike at least carrying DS9, its the most mildly retarded network on North American TV. Its kinda embarrassing when I watch a DVD-R'd episode and every commercial break has got a Girl's Gone Wild and you little boy walks by and says "Daaaaaddddy???!!"

I have said many times DS9 should be on SCI-FI HD in order and uncut.

For a show as cerebral as DS9, it should be on a network as brain damaged as SPIKE.

Uncut will never happen again. In 2002 the FCC approved that all films and television programs being displayed on television were to be edited to allow a minimum of between 17 and 19 minutes of commercials. This is plainly evident when watching newer TV shows and older TV shows on DVDs.

Perfect example: DS9's runtime in the early seasons is around 45 minutes. If you watch BSG at the moment the run time is roughly 43:30.

Wow, that's a bona fide tragedy for DS9 and all artful television shows.

5 or 6 years ago-ish Spike used to air two episodes of Trek, uncut, on Friday nights and even promoted it as "Trek Uncut". Guess they stopped doing that eh? I wouldn't know since I didn't watch Spike in years.

The network can air it uncut but they have to extend the time allotted to the show. They can't just run fewer commercials to fit the show into the hour time slot, they have to extend past the one-hour mark. Several Battlestar Galactica episodes have been aired this way.
