Spider-Man movie (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Yeah they've been doing pick ups and stuff for the last week or show. Interesting photos and video...the "prototype" costume seems to go with the rumours about Peter's costume over the progression of the trilogy that we would see him tinker with the suit as we go along.

It was actually revealed in Entertainment Weekly but it's been so long since we've had news it was probably forgotten

You would think, given we've had effective CGI dinosaurs for nearly twenty years, the producers could have created a look that conveyed human emotion in a reptile face. Hell, look at the raptors in Jurassic Park.

Dude, it's a Pez dispenser. Let's wait until we actually see how he looks on-screen before we start complaining.

I think CGI work as a whole has taken a nose-dive since Jurassic Park. There's elements of brilliance and great photo-realistic effects here and there (see: District 9) but a lot of special effects any more for want of a better term look phoned in.

Look at the "creature effects" in Green Lantern with the various other Lanterns on the Lantern home planet or whatever. The effects of the various other Lanterns, including our titular hero, all looks corny and like, well, computer graphics or just plain cartoons. Hardly compares at all to the stuff in Jurassic Park and even in T2. Back then CGI effects took a ve-ve-ve-r-r-r-r-y long time to make. I think the CGI effects work on Jurassic Park took a year or more to do.

Now that's not to say that doing CGI these days is any easier to do, it's still a long process but it seems over-used to the point that some of the quality and nuances is lost in translation somewhere between idea and screen.

"The Untold Story"

They are really trying hard to avoid the whole "This is the same movie we made 10 years ago" vibe the film will face.

We completely glossed over Peter's parent's and how they died in the Raimi movies.

For Webb's movie Parker's parent are probably scientists working for Osborn.
